In celebration of the 75th anniversary of VE day we had live social distancing entertainment at Bowerfield Court Care Home. One of our regular singers agreed to sing for us in the back garden while the residents watched from the far side of the lounge and the dining area.

Dominos Pizza appeared at our front door and gave us some lovely pizzas for our staff and residents to enjoy. They tasted delicious and a massive big thank you from all at Troutbeck Care Home.

Thank you for the thoughtful donation of handmade wash bags for our staff at Belvoir Vale Care Home.

They have been created so that staff can change clothes and put the uniforms into the bags to then put straight in the washing machine to reduce the risk of infection. 

A big thank you  to our friends at Waitrose Poynton for the lovely goodie bag dropped off for residents and staff.

Author Gillian Mawson kindly sent Bowerfield House a copy of her book Evacuees it’s about the lives of children who were evacuated in WW2. Gillian`s idea was for the book to be read to residents to help prompt childhood memories. Thank you Gillian for your kindness. 

Today we had an unexpected visitor who was quiet noisy, a bit clumsy and who liked to clean. Julie the beautiful travelling dinosaur made us all chuckle at her antics in the car park - cleaning cars and dusting the homes windows.

Residents at Corinthian House enjoyed the afternoon in the garden planting new flowers in the raised flower beds. Everyone loved listening and having a discussion where the different flowers should be planted to make sure they had enough sun light and shade.

Garden Hill Care Home on St Michael's Avenue was delighted to have Kevin come and sing for us in the car park. We all pulled up a chair in the conservatory and watched as Kevin sang our favourites to us.

Residents and staff at Bowerfield House  have been  busy gardening, potting and watering plants as the weather has been lovely this April. A big thank you  to one of our residents family members who  donated some bedding plants as their garden centre had to close.

We have just received these beautiful flowers as a thankyou to all staff. Thank you  to MA for your kind thoughts  form all at Troutbeck.

Thank you to Sara and her team at Able World who have donated 20 face shields to Clarendon Court which they purchased at their own expense.

A massive thank you from the staff and management and we look forward to seeing you all soon. 

Belmont House Care Home on High Street in Starbeck were delighted to be approached by the Stray Ferret to feature in their article about clap for hero’s on a Thursday evening at 8pm. As always we were outside at 8pm clapping for our colleagues, NHS workers and key workers. 

We were delighted to receive an email from one of our past resident's relatives to say they were thinking of us all at Ashfield Court and had arranged for a gift of biscuits and tea bags from Betty's Tea Rooms for all of the staff.

Once again we were touched by the generosity of local people thinking of others in these troubled times.

Fee's food in Rock donated 60 slices of delicious homemade cake and our local charity Concern Wadebridge delivered a large selection of Easter eggs to Windmill Court Care Home.

Howgate House staff member doubles up as a Barber providing a trim for our gentlemen. Social protection observed. 

Thank you to the resident's family member who made this smashing sign for the team at Bowerfield House. Such a lovely thoughtful idea and it looks wonderful just outside the main door where everyone can see it. 

'Poke an egg, win a prize' was a treat for residents and staff. Everyone had the chance to poke one of the eggs during our Easter celebration and buffet. Each one was a Easter chocolate winner, but a special 8 of them included larger prizes as well. 

Recently residents at Cavendish Court have been receiving some beautiful  postcards of kindness which have made everyone smile. We are excited about replying to our new friends  much love Cavendish Court.
