Seeing those who live with us looking happy and getting to know them all is my favourite thing about working in care. I also get a lot of satisfaction from their families as they trust that we are caring for their relative well.
I would not be here without the support and opportunities from MMCG. I would like to take this opportunity to truly thank all at MMCG for changing my life and helping me be able to change the lives of others.
Just seeing the positive outcomes for the people we support is my favourite thing about working in the care sector. MMCG also helps us to support those that live with us to enhance their best quality of life whilst also offering a wide range of opportunities for their employees.
Working at Alexandra Court is like having a second family, it’s a nice place to work where all have a voice and we are all valued for the person that they are. I love making the residents and families happy, to get to know them and supporting them to embrace life.
I have total support from my manager when needed. My manager is aware of my capabilities, and I’m left to get on with my job. We at Rosedale are a very multi-cultural work force and it is a very happy place to work as we all try to do our best for the residents.
I love meeting people and helping people adapt to a new way of life, supporting families and friends. My role is never boring, I always find the next challenge.
I joined the Quality team just over two years ago and can honestly say I have enjoyed every day ever since. The role I do supports and guides services to continue to achieve good standards in their home, and for the people who live with us.
There have been so many rewarding parts of my career with MMCG, but the best one is when I become a senior carer. That was the best feeling, having touched the lives of our residents and making things better on daily basis.
It’s the tiny things that really make a difference and seeing the reaction and joy on the Residents faces when for example you have just taken time to sit and chat to them, provided them with their favourite meal or decorated their room and put new furniture in.
The most rewarding part of my careers so far with MMCG is when the team have a “light bulb” moment. I have been coaching the team to make improvements and so delighted when they come up with idea themselves and followed it though which was a huge brake-through moment with the team.
There are so many things that I love about my role as Lifestyle Co-ordinator. The most important one is the joy that you bring to people, their smiles and laughs are priceless.
