We had a lovely sunny day planting some flowers for the outside of the home. Our residents enjoyed the planting and the lovely cool drinks. 

What a great day we had here at Bowerfield Court! We enjoyed a puppet show where everyone got to see our very own handmade puppets. We followed this with a virtual themed concert where our bunting was up, our disco lights were on and our flags were waved.

Today's entertainment was a new singer called Rachel, we had a really enjoyable day celebrating St George's Day. Residents really enjoyed the afternoon, and finished it off with a glass of wine. 

Today was St. George's Day , the day we celebrate George slaying a dragon for England! And there's no better way to celebrate than with a party! We listened to music from Vera Lynn, Tommy Steele and The Beatles. Played games like the Cockney Rhyming Slam Game and St. George themed Bingo.

Yesterday afternoon we held a tribute to the Queen concert. The concert was well attended, cheesecake and coconut slices accompanied the hot beverages, Sherry and wine. Union flags were held aloft and waved throughout the royal tribute. 

Having an active lifestyle with physical activity and a creative outlet to keep the mind sharp is important as we grow older.

MMCG put together parcels for soldiers far from home and their families at Christmas time.

Laptop donations to schools in Leeds by Maria Mallaband HQ

With the news that many children were struggling to access their online home learning during lockdown, we decided to offer our old, repurposed laptops to schools in Leeds, the home of the MMCG HQ.

On Thursday 15th April the residents joined to the celebrations of World Art Day. We remembered the birth of one of the greatest artists in history. Leonardo Da Vinci, a multidisciplinary artist that created one of the most beautiful pieces of art that we can still admire today.

The residents and the children from the nursery next door were talking about the importance of recycling. For that reason the residents decided to use tins as pots where you can put seasonal flowers, showing the children an easy way to recycle.

Our residents had a lot of fun painting eggs, Easter stands and creating beautiful Easter wreaths. We also had our Easter bunny deliver Easter Eggs to all our residents rooms. 

We had a game of skittles today. The residents used great strength and aim to knock the skittles. They soon became a little competitive and had good sportsmanship. They played for nearly an hour and really enjoyed it.

At Bowerfield House Ron and Dianne enjoyed a game of football on the table which was lots of fun and Ron was happy he won. We will have lots more fun and laughs with all our residents and bring out our competitive sides. 

We started Easter preparations early to ensure we were able to make all of our own Easter cards. It was a busy time but spurred on by tea and cake, Cynthia and Pamela did a fantastic job.

It was a beautiful Spring day to be able to enjoy the sunshine at Hope Green and it was great to chat together about things that are important to us. Some residents contributed to our spring craft of butterflies  and flowers with inspirational thoughts too.

At Riverview the amazing local community continues to support us all. Just when you're thinking that you could do with a snack and a cup of tea these fabulous gifts arrive at the front door. They went down a treat so thank you to the thoughtful person/people who sent this lovely gift.
