Our stories

We were delighted when two of our team completed their Care Practitioners course especially during the challenges the pandemic sent us. Well done to Andrew and Richard who have already signed up the further progress their careers in care on the Nurse Associate course.

We love our games shows and competitions here at Rose Lodge and after seeing a game of Higher and Lower and hearing how interactive our residents were we thought we would create our own version.

We had a lovely morning planting some seeds for our raised bed project here at Rosedale. We bought some flowers and vegetable seeds and potted them into little pots to be transferred into the flower beds once they start to grown. We can't wait to show you them when you visit. 

We were delighted when Musical Memories joined us for a 50's show in the garden in April. It was a lovely day and some of our residents enjoyed a dance in the court yard as Michaela sang to us. We had such a wonderful afternoon and can't wait to do it again. 

A big Happy International Nurses Day from us all at Croft House. To celebrate our nurses at Croft house the Home Manager, Martin, made the most delicious cake and in the colours of the Romanian Flag as all three of our nurses are from Romania. 

Happy International Nurses Day to all our wonderful nurses at Willowbank, but also the district nurse team who support us. We are celebrating with carrot cake and refreshments. 

We had a fabulous day celebrating Muriel's 103rd Birthday in April. We are so pleased to have been able to be part of this amazing day with the most amazing lady. We had cake and a little tea party and Muriel received lots of presents and had such a lovely day. 

Wednesday 12th May 2021 was International Nurses Day and we wanted to say a massive thank you to our nurses at Minster Grange and all of the district nurses and community mental health nurses. You are all amazing and today we celebrate you and all you do.

We decided not to wait until National Donut Day to have a sweet treat. Our residents tried some new flavours whilst reminiscing about the traditional jam and sugar donuts from their childhood. 

It was a wonderful atmosphere at Hope Green on Saturday as we remembered VE Day together. Reminiscing about street parties, and waving flags and pom poms with a great singalong made for a fantastic time.

What a fantastic day we had at Bowerfield House. We celebrated VE Day with a quiz which Pat, Barry and Ellie won. They loved their prizes. Ellie won a bottle of wine and Barry and Pat won a pair of socks. We all enjoyed the entertainment, we had a singer on zoom.

May is Stroke Awareness Month and everyone at Bowerfield Court is helping to raise both money and awareness. We have made purple ribbons for both residents and staff to wear, along with displaying large ribbons in our lobby and on each floor of our home.

Today at Manorhey we enjoyed a performance from one of our favourite entertainers. She had everyone dancing away the whole way through. She definitely brought a smile to our faces. 

What a lovely surprise to walk into work and be greeted with such a warm welcome. Megan and the girls had decorated the lounge for my 50th and I got lots of cards, gifts, flowers and £50. Thank you so very much to everyone at Bowerfield House for such a lovely morning. 

We would like to thank one of our nurses Jeff who's dad breeds budges and let us have 2 for our home. Two new welcome additions to our family at Bowerfield House. Introducing The Royals Elizabeth and Phillip, we are all excited about the new arrivals and our residents love watching them.

We celebrated our employee of the month at Bowerfield Court today. Emma a care assistant and Fran, congratulations to the both of them.
