The gradual ‘opening up’ of society after lockdown has seen the long-awaited return of indoor visits, more visitors, trips out and greater contact between family members and friends across our care homes, as we all learn to live alongside Covid.

A  312,000 refurbishment project at Monread Lodge Care Home in Knebworth has been completed, with interior designed spaces, luxury furnishings, sumptuous fabrics, and warm colours creating an elegant inviting environment.

We’re delighted to announce that Maria Mallaband Care Group has been shortlisted as finalists in this year’s Care Home Awards.

Marita Westaway has taken the helm at King’s Manor Care Home, in Ottery St Mary, Devon bringing a wealth of experience to the role after 20 years in the care sector.

In support of the Alzheimer's society dementia cupcake day, today we had a lovely coffee morning with delicious cupcakes some of which were donated by a student from Poynton high school who during lockdown turned her passion for baking into a small business.

We have been given some new CDs by a friend of Troutbeck Care Home and will enjoy listening to these later today. With eight CDs to choose from there should be something for everyone to enjoy. 

A Friday afternoon was well spent decorating and sampling cupcakes. The chef very kindly, at short notice, whipped up a batch of scrummy cupcakes for our residents to decorate using fondant, icing, vanilla butter cream and chocolate icing as well as a variety of sprinkles.

Residents at The Hawthorns have had lots of fun in the sun this week. We had refreshing drinks created by our ladies and individual paddling pools set up for everyone to cool down whilst relaxing. 

Eileen worked hard all weekend colouring and prepping the European flags for Euro 2021, ready for them to be displayed. The residents think they look great and they are a good talking point with everyone.

We couldn't believe the transformation of Our Albert the Veg Man. We are really grateful to our Administrator Kirsty's mum for the work she's put in to transform him.

It's Hot Hot Hot - the arrival of hot weather at Hope Green brought some lovely surprises of ice lolly deliveries and iced lemonade. Always conscious of keeping hydrated, we were enjoying some refreshing treats together whilst chatting about our favourite types of summer holidays.

Bowerfield House had a lovely morning designing our wall art of a football pitch with all the countries flags placed around the football pitch, it's displayed lovely in our lounge.

Who doesn’t love ice cream & ice lollies eh? after all, it’s one of the world’s favourite desserts! With the Summer in full bloom, we at Knights Court raided the freezer and got out some delicious ice lollies and choc ice creams as a treat for our residents.

It's National Carers Week and here at Parkview House we have been showing our appreciation and celebrating carers near and far, valuing their input and impact that they make on peoples lives. We want you to know we love and appreciate you all. 

Jane and I made homemade lemonade for the residents ready for our afternoon treat which we enjoyed with some delicious cake. We firstly made our base from water, sugar and honey, we then squeezed and grated our lemons and this was added to our base to create a lovely still lemonade.
