Moving into a care home made easy

Our care team are here to make sure that making the move is as easy as possible for you and your loved one. If you still need reassurance, here are some stories from our residents, their families and our care team.

The sun was shining today, so we had a lovely trip to the ice cream shop and then the park. The residents all enjoyed their favourite flavour of ice cream and once we had finished we made our way to the local park. The park was busy with dogs and their owners.

The residents were happy to receive drawings made for them by their local Rainbows.

We had a very special visit for the staff today from the local ice cream van. Our manager Rebecca treated us all to a delicious ice cream of our choice which couldn't have come on a better day as the weather was lovely!

Every Monday afternoon, we’re taking residents for a walk going to a near parks, gardens, coffee shops or in a near restaurant. But this day we took Wayne to a coffee shop and had a nice cup of tea.

Students from Little Angel Nursery came to say hi to the residents of Amber Court. Margaret (one of our residents) is very happy to receive flowers and biscuits from them. Thank you very much!

In celebration of Easter, we in Amber Court planned for a fun filled days for residents, staff and relatives. We had a lot of Easter artworks prepared for our residents to show their creativity.

We decided to create an Easter wreath in our reception to welcome everyone visiting the home. Everyone is so amazed to see how creative and lovely the wreath is, especially the resident’s relatives.

What a wonderful Easter Season the residents have enjoyed at Allingham House, with so many different activities for everyone to enjoy. One of our mottos is Team Work makes the dream work and once again we put it into practice.

Winners Of The Easter Cake Competition

The people living at Buckingham House really wanted to celebrate the Queens 96th Birthday with some cheese and crackers and of course cake. The team decorated the outside space and people came out to enjoy some glorious weather and nibbles whilst raising a toast.

Our Easter activity proved to be a huge success, and our Residents really enjoyed this experience. It was a highly awaited Easter project here at Kents Hill and we were all very excited when the eggs finally arrived!

To end a month of Easter craft and related activities all communal dining areas were decorated for the Easter Sunday lunch, and as an egg-citing end to Easter the residents were visited by the Cedar Court bunnies offering chocolate eggs or soft desserts to all residents.&n

Hope Green Residents maintain links with local community groups, the taxi was booked and residents were ready to visit a local community group for lunch, music, and games.

Here at Alexandra Court we had fun holding an Easter Bonnet competition and finished off our celebrations with a huge raffle!

Here at Howgate we had a fun day as we held an Easter Bonnet competition, Nikkie and her glamorous assistant took a while to come to the decision of who deserves the win. Well done all who took part and Happy Easter from Howgate!

Our craft club is always looking at different ways of being creative and we were delighted with the results of our Rock Painting. Residents decided they would like to use red white and blue colours so the rocks could be used throughout the year in the celebrations of the Queens Platinum Jubilee.

The residents enjoyed many different activities to celebrate one of the most important days at the Grand National, Ladies Day.

The sun shone and the gardens were looking beautifully decorated with bunting and flags as we spent the morning together celebrating this wonderful initiative.

It was important to us to provide a time of Reflections on Good Friday with Easter Hymns and words of contemplation so we combined this with our Painting Club. It was great to see everyone enjoying the relaxing atmosphere, with residents singing along to familiar hymns whilst painting.

We started the Easter weekend with decorating on Thursday. Friday we had entertainment and decorated Easter eggs. The Easter bunny snuck in to deliver chocolate bunnies a fun couple of days!

On Good Friday all resident enjoyed an Easter egg on behalf of the home.

The Grand National is the most famous of British Horse races. It was first run in 1839 and is a race over distance of 4 miles and 2 and a half furlongs. There are 30 jumps.

The Easter Chicken gave chocolate to all our residents today.

We celebrated National Cheese Fondue Day with a home made beer and cheddar fondue. Everyone enjoyed making and enjoying this 70's classic. It is wonderful how simply sharing good food brings people together, encouraging camaraderie and laughter.

We have celebrated Easter at Troutbeck with Fun Games, Hymns, Crafts, Music, Hot cross buns, cakes and delicious chocolates.

Our 'Trip To Chocolate Land' Party was enjoyed by all, they especially enjoyed all of the sweet treats we had on offer, from our chocolate fountain enjoyed with fresh fruit to our chocolate cakes. We watched clips of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and listened to some of the classic tunes.

A lot of hard work has gone into making our Easter bonnets this year and we have had a Parade to show off everyone's work! Residents enjoyed showing off their hats to our judges Bronwen and Nurse Hannah. It was a good laugh for everyone to join in and have a bit of Easter fun!

We have been making the most of the lovely Easter sunshine and enjoyed our gardening. We have had lots of fresh air and smiles all round.

Bowerfield House would love to wish everyone a very Happy Easter. We celebrated with dressing up in an Easter Hen outfit which made all residents giggle and every resident and staff member enjoyed an Easter Egg.

Last week was so much fun at Ashfield Court. We have had the grand national which resulted in one of our residents winning some lovely biscuits! We didn't win the cake competition but we had such fun doing it.

Acorn House are over the moon with the recent Health Watch report which followed after an unannounced visit, care home manager Cherise Homer-Beck said we are so happy with the report feed back and really pleased with some of the kind comments made to the health watch inspectors by staff, visitors

We have enjoyed a morning of crafting with our residents, some painted whilst others coloured but it was all Easter themed! Preparing for Easter and creating some hand painted eggs that they could keep or gift to others.

Ahead of our Trip to 'Willy Wonka Chocolate Land' party next week, we created a Willy Wonka themed cake along with our residents! They helped bake and decorate and I think our efforts paid off! It was enjoyed with a cup of tea and a Easter quiz.

Our Peter Rabbit set up has arrived for all of our residents to admire and visit. We have all enjoyed seeing the lovely colours brighten up this corner of our home!

We've been preparing the home with Easter decorations, including bunting outside and in. The residents enjoyed putting together Easter baskets ready to be filled with sweet treats and decorating our Easter branches with eggs, making a wonderful colourful display.

Bowerfield House have planted a beautiful tree called Malus for the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee. Malus is standing proudly in the front garden, when it grows we will have beautiful pink flowers plus yummy apples that the chef can pick and make a apple sauce.

Our wonderful colleague Maria has been busy again baking cakes and brownies and creating beautiful chocolates for us all to enjoy over Easter!

Taking time to have those special 1-2-1 interactions is invaluable for those living with us.

Clarendon Court are raising funds for the Alzheimer's Society this Easter with their cake and chocolate sale and raffle. All cakes lovingly baked by the wonderful Maria, our very own Mary Berry! We'll start our diets next month ....

We have decorated the home for Easter and the resident's got involved. We had so much fun!

The Hawthorns are getting in the Easter spirit. Today the residents made an Easter Tree. They painted and coloured in small Easter eggs which they then hung on a small branch. This is displayed in our newly decorated lounge to start the celebrations

The people living at Bridge House are very creative and enjoy their art club. Recently they have been tissue paper hearts and enjoying some mindfulness colouring.
