As part of our celebration for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we invited a local ice cream vendor to visit our home and let our residents enjoy the ice cream he sells. All the staff and residents enjoyed this kind treat.

Our jubilee celebrations were off to a cracking start, we watched the trooping of the guard and had a real laugh making crowns. We spent the day reminiscing and remembering celebrations over the years.

We were busy getting ready for the Platinum Jubilee. Our entry is decorated in tribute to the queen and her notable life. From facts about the commonwealth, to hobbies and baby photos we were excited for the celebration to begin.

Chef Allan found himself on TV last month as the National Technical Officer for British Taekwondo, this was at the European Tae championships 2022 Manchester.

His family are very proud of all his achievements as are we here at Howgate House.

We have celebrated the Queens Jubilee with an amazing entertainer at the home who sang a variety of songs for the people living with us.  There were food, fun and laughter throughout the home as a buffet and refreshments were enjoyed in the dining room.

The people living with us at Dussindale Park Care Home were so happy to have a visit from the Guinea Pigs.  We are looking forward to them visiting again soon.

We had a special workshop come in today for the first time. They asked us to paint all different types of flowers to make a collage in the outline of The Queen.  We think that it looks fantastic and we have placed it next to our balloon display.

There was a lot of excitement at Hope Green this week as our own sweet shop was placed within our home. Residents enjoyed short walks together to choose their favourite sweets and chocolates and it was great to hear conversations of childhood treats.

Residents, staff and families, joined together in a Fundraising Coffee Morning and Afternoon BBQ, a whole day of celebrations to raise money for Dementia UK and Alzheimer's Society.

We raised the Amazing amount of £580.

At Ashfield we have started a new activity, juggling classes. This took place after watching the Greatest Showman movie 🍿😀😀💕

It was a wine themed day for us at The Hawthorns as we celebrated National Wine Week.  We talk about our favourite wines, about how wines were made all around the world and then finished with some drawing of wine bottles.  It was really enjoyed by the people who took part.

We have a walking club at the home and we quite often venture out over the common for a little walk.  This week on our walk we had a lovely surprise as we were greeted with some animals and a choir that we sat and listened to. Such a lovely extra treat for the group.

Over the last few weeks the people at our home have used paints, stickers, glitter and tissue paper to create the most beautiful, colourful flowers. They have cut them out and put them together to form a big flower for the Queens Platinum Jubilee.

Our resident's took advantage of the sunshine to do a bit of plant potting today .

Fresh air, relaxing music and a coffee went down a treat.

A lovely afternoon had by all.

Platinum Jubilee decorations are filling our home at Hope Green and are extending to the gardens to give our visitors a Royal Welcome. Residents and staff have been busy creating in the craft club, and also out in the gardens with ribbons, bunting and bows.

Yesterday morning we had lots of different ball games including Basket ball and bowling.

We are so excited to be welcoming our entertainer Tony Boyle and our wonderful kitchen staff are planning the most fantastic afternoon tea to celebrate the platinum jubilee
