The manager at our home spent time chatting to staff members, providing cake and handing out individualised 'Thank you' gifts to show appreciation of the hard work which continues every day.

The people living with us and the staff at Ashmead have been most affected by the recent news from Ukraine and have all wished to play a part to help the refugees.

A Day at the Races!! We all enjoyed celebrating the Cheltenham Gold Cup today. The residents picked a horses name out of the hat and decorated a Jockey shirt with matching colours. When it was time for the chosen race to begin, the residents gathered in the lounge and wore some fancy hats ready.

A most enjoyable afternoon for all residents was spent at Ashmead on Wednesday 15th March 2022, when members of our local NHS dietary team paid a visit. The team brought along ingredients to enable the residents to construct and taste wonderful milkshakes.

MONA AND MARY ENJOYED OUR KNITTING AND A NATTER AFTERNOON WE WERE KNITTING CUFFS FOR THE BABY'S AND CHILDREN AT HOSPITAL TO HOLD THE WIRE IN. LOVELY AFTERNOON AND GREAT FUN.

For the second consecutive year the residents enjoyed a Carnival Party at Allingham House. The residents started the week making and displaying colourful decorations all around our home, creating the perfect space to celebrate this festive day.

We dedicated a day for our lovely ladies in the home and also involved the community around Amber Court. Every lady had received pink flower and simple treat that symbolises how important and special they are.

We marked the 2nd week of March as British Pie Week. Pies can be part of any of our meals, it can be our main meal, dessert, or just for snacks. That’s why our very talented kitchen chef prepared different kinds of pie for the whole week.

During a one-to-one activity, Arthur told us he really admires Joanna Lumley and asked if we could help him write a letter to Joanna. So of course, we did!

We celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite literary characters.

Everyone got together and did the conga down the corridors which was followed by a quiz and even more dancing.

The weather might be cold, wet and windy outside but our Gardening Club at Hope Green continues by 'bringing the outside in'. We care about connecting to nature, and providing our residents the opportunity to get involved whatever the weather and whatever the season.

We had a lovely pamper session yesterday. So many of our lovely ladies had their nails painted, trimmed and filed. They had a great time chatting like we were all in a salon and admiring everyone's colour choice.

In preparation for the return of the church services Michael used his connections in the local community.  He spoke with his contact Alan from the "Men In Sheds",  Alan was a former Cedar Court volunteer and NAPA volunteer of the year, who to part in a group "Men in Sheds" .

The traditional Pancake Day marks the beginning of March and one of the sweetest traditions during this time of the year. Our residents joined the celebrations having delicious pancakes, served with all sort of toppings.
