Our stories

Physical activity is very important part of our daily routine at Ashmead.

With a regular Yoga sessions every Monday we help manage any aches and pains, reduce stress , improve sleeping habits and  strengthen bones. We also have lots of  fun doing it.

In preparation for Fridays Big Choir Singalong, the residents were colouring in some pictures to use when singing the songs. We had Three Little Birds and Somewhere Over The Rainbow artwork to hold up and show the choir on Friday.

We had a wonderful afternoon sat in the sunshine and singing along with Emma James. We couldn't think of a better way to spend the day than sat with friends, enjoying refreshments whilst being entertained. Just perfect.

The biggest activity request here at Clarendon Court is music, whether karaoke, sing-a-long or a music quiz, we have lots of good voices here. On the 16th we held a karaoke session, wow great response a lovely afternoon had by all.

With glorious sunshine and everything we needed to make our own Day At The Beach at Hope Green we made the most of it and enjoyed a great time together. Favourites were definitely the inflatable flamingo and monkey and of course our Duck Game was a huge success.

Members of our team attended the recent Cranleigh Carnival June 2021.  It was an amazing day and the Cedar Court stand was a busy one.  We raised £120 for the Alzheimer's Society, with a tombola and an excellent selection of prizes, which was enjoyed by all the visitors to the stand.

Faye came up with an ingenious innovative way to produce an Aqua painting in record time. A wet flannel and one foul scoop job done. All the more time to sit back and enjoy the sunshine with a glass of red fizz.

They may not be the tallest of flowers but we're very proud of our sunflowers here at Bowerfield Court. We planted the seeds several months ago and have cared for them on a daily basis, watching them grow along the way. We believe they wouldn't look out of place in a Van Gogh painting.

The residents thoroughly enjoyed talking about the Royal family today. We started off with a quiz about Royal Weddings, which some residents knew all the answers to! Then we reminisced about the family and shared our opinions on the monarch.

Maria Mallaband Care Group (MMCG) is celebrating the success of Clinical Quality Team member and Trainee Nursing Associate (TNA), Jo Stokes, who has been selected to become an ambassador for Health Education England (HEE).

Everyone needs a bit of retail therapy and it was David, Veronica, Val and Janna who hit the shops.  We travelled to Swindon designer outlet village to hunt out bargains and enjoy the history.  The outlet is on the suite of the former Great Western Outlet Works and the history and archi

Celebrating National Ice Cream Month with ice cream. Rosemary, Owen and Caroline were enjoying the sunshine. A few of the residents came to join us but some stayed inside for there ice cream. We finished of the day with some games in the conservatory.

Congratulations to Allingham House, the winner of the best activities in the regions Carnival themed competition. The home were delivered a sweet and chocolate hamper for staff and resident to enjoy.

We at Manorhey would like to thank MMCG for the lovely chocolate hamper we received as our prize for winning the competition for the best Carnival cake. The hamper was enjoyed by all staff & residents. Thank you.

Residents today made their portraits of Manorhey's pet  budgie Bluey. We used tissue paper, colours and other crafts to make their masterpieces which look very like our Bluey.
