They are now through to the semi-finals of the Cup next Sunday. Keep it up boys. Water Royd wishes you the best of luck for the next round.

Weekly Blog 1/11/21- 5/11/21

This week has been really exciting our residents have been really busy. They have enjoyed a good pamper getting facials, manicures and have enlightened their day by listening to the power of music. Our lovely residents got physical in get fit exercise, where we did head to toe exercises. We also switched the activity up a little and used pom poms to make it more fun for our residents. This week we played bingo, "does your mother know that we played bingo", as our residents like to say. We played for a line and then the full house and had 2 games.

World Kindness Day & Remembrance Day

To recognise Remembrance Day, the people living at Woodlands created beautiful poppy decorations which were displayed in the lounge.

To celebrate World Kindness Day on Saturday 13th November the Woodlands decorated quotes about kindness.  These were displayed around the care home to remind everyone to be kind.

Hairdressing at Water Royd

Last week our residents enjoyed the company of our hairdresser. They were really happy to have her back and enjoyed a good hair wash, head massage, cut and style, it was remembrance day so they had a minute's silence for all the soldiers that were lost during the war, our resident after the minutes silence sang war song with Alexa.

Remembrance at Brunel

We wanted to recognise Remembrance at Brunel House and we hosted a 1940s day.

It was a lovely day from start to finish with both staff and residents participating by dressing up for the occasion. There was a musical playlist, the café was decorated with replicas items which enabled us to reminisce, as well as a themed menu for the day.

The celebrations went on throughout the day. Thank you to all the staff team that supported and gave their help, it is very much appreciated by us all.

Activities at Brunel

Two of the favourite events we enjoy at Brunel is the evening pub quiz. Lots of people who live at Brunel like to participate and all enjoy a social chat over a drink once the quiz ended. On other days the smell of fresh bread drifts throughout the home and the residents enjoy this with their evening soup on those chilly nights.

Shirley, Eileen , Veronica, Patsy, Terri, Mary, David and Colin joined the Oomph live for the first time. We suggested songs with a disco theme and had a really great time meeting Kaiya.
