Thank You Margaret

A huge thank you to Margaret the community champion at Asda in Falkirk for this lovely hamper to us for the residents. We really do appreciate all Margaret has done for us during this difficult year.

Donated Books

We had a lovely morning of crafts this morning. The wonderful books were donated by Funnybones Books, which is a company run by one of our residents daughters. She held a fundraising event and purchased the books to donate to the home. Thank you so much, we all loved them.

Care Practitioners

We were delighted when two of our team completed their Care Practitioners course especially during the challenges the pandemic sent us. Well done to Andrew and Richard who have already signed up the further progress their careers in care on the Nurse Associate course.

The Magic Teapot

Today our new Magic Teapot room invited a few residents to enjoy High Tea. Everyone arrived to the music playing on the old fashioned record player. The fabulous cakes and beautiful China wowed everyone. The room was filled with laughter, smiles and chatter. The tea flowed and the afternoon was a great success. Just as the ladies departed the magic tea pot dished out wee chocolates, the ladies can't wait to return to another afternoon at The Magic Tea Pot. Kind thanks go to Stacey, Pauline and all the kitchen staff for all the fabulous baking.

Tai Chi

Every Wednesday at Parksprings is Tai Chi with Morag on zoom, gentle exercises which can make a difference. Morag demonstrates the moves with gentle music and then the residents copy the moves. It is always such a popular class at the home and we can't wait to have Morag back into the home eventually.

Thank You Poundland

We received a very kind donation from Poundland in Catterick for staff and residents when we were shopping in May. We can't thank you enough for thinking of us and for all your support during the pandemic. We will be sure to enjoy all our treats with a cuppa in the home.

Planting

We had a lovely morning planting some seeds for our raised bed project here at Rosedale. We bought some flowers and vegetable seeds and potted them into little pots to be transferred into the flower beds once they start to grown. We can't wait to show you them when you visit.

Tea and Cake In The Garden

Summer is fast approaching and we love having our fantastic gardens here at Garden Hill Care Home. We had a few lovely days in May so took the opportunity to get out in the sun and enjoy tea and cake.

50s Show

We were delighted when Musical Memories joined us for a 50's show in the garden in April. It was a lovely day and some of our residents enjoyed a dance in the court yard as Michaela sang to us. We had such a wonderful afternoon and can't wait to do it again.

VE Day at The Westbourne

The residents at The Westbourne celebrated VE Day listening and singing along told old time war songs such as we'll meet again and white cliffs of Dover. Everyone had flags to wave. Some residents had flags or stripes painted on their faces to mark the occasion. Our chef baked us a cake and we decorated it with raspberries and blueberries. Everyone enjoyed a buffet tea to celebrate. A good day had by all.
