International Nurses Day at Abingdon Court
Here at Abingdon Court, we would be lost without our nurses who keep the building alive – from the amazing team who work tirelessly throughout our home, making sure all who live here are happy and healthy, to our home managers who have dedicated their lives to nursing before taking on managerial roles. Nurses really are at the heart of what we do (supported by our excellent carers, of course!).

Arts & Crafts at Brunel House
We’ve been getting creative here at Brunel House Care Home using lots of different mediums; Mary has been making cards using brightly coloured shapes, Jen creating magic watercolour art and Veronica has been colouring in place mats for us to celebrate the arrival of Spring.

Salt Dough
The residents enjoyed making salt dough today. The activity aids with flexibility in the hands and eases joint pain in the fingers. The ladies loved the activity.
International Nurses Day Cake
Belmont House celebrated National Nurses Day with a fabulous cake made by our wonderful chef. Thank you to our nurses and team for making our residents feel special, safe and cared for. Our residents and team can't wait to have a piece of this wonderful cake with a cuppa.
International Nurses Day at River View
12th May is International Nurses Day. Our fabulous team were acknowledged for their continued hard work, especially over this last year, making sure that your loved ones are kept safe and well. Home Manager Lizzy paid testament to her team having worked days and nights during the pandemic making sure everything was covered and supporting all. All nurses were given a gift and a healthy goody bag of treats (and cake of course)! At the same time recognition awards were awarded to three fabulous nurses for their long service at River View Care Home of 17 years each.

VE Day Celebrations at Windmill Court
On hearing of the residents' request for burgers to be served at the street party to mark the 76th year anniversary of VE Day, local butcher Gary Dutton very kindly donated some home made burgers for the event which everyone really enjoyed.

Queen's Birthday Celebrations
We celebrated the Queen's birthday in style at the home with a royal quiz and afternoon tea. We enjoyed homemade cakes made by our chef and fresh cream cakes all which were yummy. We can't wait for the Queen's second birthday, Trooping the Colour in June.

VE Day at Willowdene
We had a lovely day at the home celebrating VE Day and reminiscing about the stories we had heard and remembered ourselves during the Second World War. We had afternoon tea to celebrate the day and decorated the home and enjoyed music and quizzes.

Daily Workout
We have been doing our daily workout today which is Tai Chi and stretching exercises. We all look forward to this routine and it helps keep spirts up. Lots of fun in the morning.
