Gardening at Manor Park

Now the sunny weather has started to arrive we have had our green fingered residents out planting flowers in the patio garden to add some colour and happiness for all. Gardening is one of the activities at the home the residents love and now they are getting out into the garden more they are keen to create their own patio garden.

Arts and Crafts

Peggy has had such a wonderful time designing Leaves in the Wind. Peggy has always loved arts and crafts and wanted to do something to keep practicing her skills despite them deteriorated with time but she has expressed herself through her drawing titled, Leaves In The Wind, and created a beautiful video. We have started the Carson Project at the home to keep the creativity going and hope to have our own art gallery in the home.

St George's Day Dragon

We have been making a St George's Day Dragon at the home in April. Peggy did a good job of pretending she was terrified by our clearly ferocious paper mache winged reptile. The residents thoroughly enjoyed putting this together and the fun they had afterwards.

National Poetry Month

We celebrated National poetry month in April and our residents have created poetry corner.  There was lots of opportunities throughout the month for our residents to select their favourite poems to read and there are a few videos on our Facebook pages.  They did such a great job of selecting their favourite poems and reading them.

Easter at Field View

There was lots of Easter activity in the home this year. We started with arts and crafts and making our own bonnets and then on Easter Sunday one of the team dressed up as the Easter bunny and delivered our eggs for us. We had a lovely buffet in the afternoon with some party games with singing and dancing.

Afternoons In The Garden

The warmer weather has started to arrive in the North East and our residents have enjoyed a fair few afternoons out in our garden at the home. The gardens at Earsdon Grange are located at the back of the home and are secure with lots of garden furniture for the residents to enjoy. It’s a great opportunity to catch up outside.

Earsdon's Easter Bonnets

Easter arrived at the home and for Easter Sunday during arts and crafts in the upcoming week our residents created Easter bonnets to wear on Easter Sunday.  We think they did a terrific job of them.

The Croft Bar

The Croft bar opened in April and we were delighted when  a friend of the home, Mark, came into the home with a wonderful new sign for the bar he had created.  Mark said “it was for a great cause and he wanted to help”. Thank you so much Mark.

Oomph Exercise

Joy and Jade have been putting their Oomph exercises into practice today with our residents on Oak. They played 60’s and 70’s music starting off gently before finishing with a bit of Tina Turner.

Decision Tree

We are delighted to share with you our Decision Tree which our Dementia Ambassador, Meghan at Corinthian House has created.

The decision tree enables our residents, families and friends in the decisions that we make about the home.

Each month there will be a new theme, and we would love to hear from you.

The theme for May is our Summer Menu - what would you like to see on the menu at Corinthian House?

This could be meals, desserts, drinks or snacks that you think your loved one would like.
