Easter Egg Donation
A massive thank you to these lovely ladies Annette and Natalie from the local Sainsburys supermarket for their donation of eggs for our lovely residents at Belmont in April. They were delighted to receive the Easter Eggs and appreciated being thought of by the local community.

The Queens Birthday Celebrations
In April we celebrated the Queen’s 96th birthday at Belmont House. We had a huge party at the home with flags, birthday cake and some music whilst we reminisced about our memories of the Queen, the family weddings and street parties and where the sad goodbye of Prince Phillip. We hope our Queen had a wonderful birthday celebration.

Easter Bonnet Creations
Over Easter we made some Easter bonnets at Astor Court and each resident decided on the design they wanted to create and then made the bonnet by using the supplies we had in house. We think they did a terrific job.

Easter Cake at Astor
Our chef Christine took some time out to help our lifestyle Coordinator and residents to make a fruit cake, we made enough mixture for cupcakes and a huge sponge. There was lots of involvement from our residents and staff, lots of laughs and flour everywhere. The cake took almost 3 hours to bake, our lifestyle Coordinator couldn't wait to decorate it with our lovely residents. We asked our residents what traditional treats were made at Easter and a Simmel cake was very popular.

Interactive Table Fun
We are really making the most of all of the different activities on our interactive table, as there really is something for everyone to enjoy.
Many of the people living with us enjoy using it independently for quizzes, puzzles and colouring in pictures. It’s also a great group social activity and can really help with increasing and stimulating movement as the many fun activities include sports games, popping bubbles and movement exercises along with some great music for everyone to enjoy.

Celebrating Frank Sinatra
He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold an estimated 150 million records worldwide and many of the people living with us Monread Lodge enjoyed spending time remembering this legendary singer.
Our residents enjoyed finding out lots of interesting new facts about Frank, watching a documentary about his long showbusiness career and of course, listening to his many wonderful classic tunes . To finish off our reminiscing, we sang along to our favourite Sinatra songs.
Queens Party at Manorhey
Tea parties were enjoyed by everyone for the Queens birthday. Residents enjoyed singing the national anthem and waving their flags proudly.
Afternoon Tea at Blackpool Tower Ballroom Hall
In observation of the International Tea Day, we went to the famous Blackpool Tower. Three of our residents spent their afternoon on the Ballroom Hall. Good old days were reminisced when the dancers swayed on the dance floor. This was made wonderful by a pot of tea and coffee partnered with well-made cakes and sandwiches. The day was capped off with an hour spent on the Promenade where they were able to soak up in the sun by the beach. We went home with wide smiles on their faces and memories to cherish.
Church Visit
One of our residents enjoyed a trip to St Clements Church in Urmston for Sunday Mass. Her religion is very important to her and we think it is good for people to be able to keep their interests and hobbies. It was lovely to meet new people and sing along to the hymns, she knew every word to the songs even without reading the lyric book!

Queen's Birthday Celebrations
We had a lovely time celebrating the Queens birthday in the sunshine, our residents enjoyed ice cream treats with music and games.
