Pancake Day
We are double celebrating pancake day at Abingdon Court this year! The people living in the home got an early treat with the activities team who went around with their amazing pancake trolley full with a choice of toppings and it went down a treat.
One the day itself the kitchen made sure that pancakes were on the menu to be enjoyed by all. How Yummy!
Baking Bingo
We all love a bit of Bingo here at Abingdon court and we have found one that has a little twist. The bingo we found uses images as well as description which is more engaging for all. This week's theme was baking items and it started a wonderful flow of past memories which included stories of many delicious sounding cakes that the residents remember baking or their mothers baking for them. All participants enjoyed a winning chocolate to celebrate joining in.
Silhouette Art
The people who live with us really enjoyed creating beautiful silhouette art, the bright colours and wonderfully textured feathers created a great sensory arts and crafts activity for all to enjoy.

Pancake Day!
Pancake Day was enjoyed by all at Ashmead on 16th of Feb. Particular interest was shown by Lumi, Home Manager, ensuring that the culinary quality matched the required standards, all our residents enjoyed their pancakes and we cannot wait for more!

Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday Pam!
Our wonderful Kitchen Assistant Lisa loves making cakes for the residents birthday.
Pancake Day
We had a lovely pancake day at the home. Staff and residents enjoyed lots of lovely toppings and the residents even had a turn at tossing their own pancakes. We had such fun.

Try a Brew
We wanted to try something a little different during our Tea tasting sessions and sourced a selection of herbal teas for the residents to try. The residents then scored points out of 10 to which they preferred. The best loved teas have been purchased and added on our tea trollies to enjoy at any moment . Such a small change but a positive change for the residents.

Tai Chi
Residents are enjoying the return of tai chi with Morag from health and wellness via zoom. We so missed our Tai Chi during lockdown that we were delighted when Morag was able to do this via Zoom. Everyone had a fantastic time and were so happy to see Morag again.

Snowmen at Park Springs
We have had a very snowy week in February in Park Springs so we thought we'd have some fun in the snow. We were all extremely brave and went outside in the snow on Thursday 11th February and we had so much fun despite the cold, building our snowmen. We then moved them to the front of the home so that everyone could see them and it brought lots of smiles.

Valentines Day at Oaklands
We have welcomed a new member of the team to our Oakland’s family, Mickey Sewell has been a chef in the Army for twenty five years before joining us at Oakland's.
On Valentine’s Day we brought a bit of fine dining to our Oakland’s residents. Everyone dressed in either red or pink for the event.
The first course for the residents to enjoy was Chicken Roulade with straw carrots, ribbon courgettes and duchess potatoes.
The second course for dessert was a chocolate fondant pudding with baileys ice cream.
