Chinese New Year
We enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year at the home in February and our chefs put together a special menu including sweet n sour pork and stir fry chicken. The food was delicious as always and the residents thoroughly enjoyed it.

Musical Memories
They say music is the soul of life and here at The Moors Care Centre we have been having a wonderful time joining online Zoom sessions with North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre. The Music Therapy Centre have been providing these free of charge to the home and they have certainly brightened up the day. We have been singing and playing musical instruments to well known favourite songs. We have had such a lovely time.
Celebrating Different Cultures
This month we have been celebrating different cultures. We have gathered facts, quizzes, games and art ideas for the residents. This is so they can discuss, reminisce and think about different cultures. Whilst remembering those recognised national days that are celebrated around the world. Earlier this month we celebrated Australia Day. We looked at some interesting facts about the country and watched some amazing footage of the beautiful views and scenery. We had a multiple-choice quiz and finally did some aboriginal art that Australians are known for.
Wise Words from our Residents
This month we were sent across an intriguing e-mail saying, ‘Last year I lost both my grandparents and over time came to regret not knowing them more as people. I regret not always listening to their stories, their pains, their hopes and their triumphs. All the things that made them who they are, I missed. Since COVID has arrived many more people have lost their loved ones, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters and like me, grandparents.

School Messages
We were honoured to have been sent valentine teddies from children of Sutton Cum Lound school, all with lovely messages on the back for our residents to enjoy.
It was a very thoughtful and kind gesture from the children and very much appreciated by staff and residents. Sending a big thank you to all the teachers and pupils.
Thank you Kingston Tesco
Residents and Staff at Kents Hill Care Home are very grateful to the local Tesco at Kingston; Milton Keynes for their deliveries. Helen; the community champion delivers 3 boxes of goodies on a weekly basis to Kents Hill for everyone to enjoy, bringing a smile to many faces as she arrives. THANK YOU KINGSTON TESCO!

Valentine's crafts
This activity is about Valentine’s day, sunshine and being creative. Each resident has been given hearts to decorate in their own way. They created colours and sunshine with these hearts and where so happy when they saw them on the windows and how beautiful they looked when the sun shone through them. They really enjoyed seeing the end result and it was lovely to see their faces when the sunshine came through the window.

Birthdays!
We here at Knights Court Nursing home are always ready & excited for a celebration of any kind, be it a birthday, wedding anniversary, or any other occasion Team Knights Court are always rearing to go! That’s why we loved celebrating several birthdays during the months of December and January. Happy birthday to all the ‘young’ ladies & gents celebrating their birthday!

Minute Your Moves campaign, AGE UK Bromsgrove, Redditch & Wyre Forest
Team Wharf have joined Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch & Wyre Forest community campaign to get everyone moving more. Our residents are supporting our local district, Wyre Forest, in recording all the minutes that they spend moving when doing activities. It is proving to be a real success and a brilliant motivation tool to get moving with a real sense of team and community spirit.

Relaxing Art Session
With the beginning of a new year we decided to introduce new ideas within activities. One of the ideas discussed alongside residents in an activities meeting, was to begin a weekly relaxing art session. That would be designated to creating artwork for the walls of the home, calling it ‘Bringing the home to life’.
