Hand Massages and sampling a range of 'spa' products was a lovely way to spend a cooler autumn day at Hope Green. We made ourselves cosy and warm, enjoyed relaxing music, and sampled everything from rose hand cream to coconut facial spray.

Hope Green are absolutely delighted with their Christmas trees this year and have enjoyed helping out with directing which trees should go into which rooms, what colour decorations to choose and whether it should be a star or a fairy on the top.

We have kick started off our Christmas activities by decorating some yummy gingerbreads followed by our first Carmel choir carol practice. It was lots of fun and really got us in the Christmas spirit.

As requested by the residents in this weeks Cooking Club we made a Chocolate Yule Log. We all had a go at whisking and sifting the icing sugar. We rolled the cake out to make the yule log and the residents helped to make the topping look like a log affect.

We were overjoyed by the turnout to our Carol Concert. Our residents had the most wonderful time welcoming friends and families to join us for carols, home made mince pies and mulled wine.

Not only has Chloe completed her 12 week induction she has been nominated as Worker Bee for December. Worker bee is voted for by staff and residents. Chloe has become a firm favourite with the residents for her can do attitude and nothing is too much trouble.

With Christmas around the corner at Birch Heath Lodge everyone has been getting in the festive spirit. Gifts are coming in and we are appreciative of everyone's kindness and thoughts.

The season`s festivities will continue and we look forward to share these experiences with you all.

We had the most elftastic time at Clarendon Court fund raising for the Alzheimer's Society whilst having fun for Elf Day. Staff and residents dressed up as elves and participated in hilarious elf themed games.

It was great to team up with the local charity "Self Care matters" for our Christmas party. Alison the founder of the charity teamed up with our chef Caitlin to provide some tasty treats for our buffet. there was barely a crumb left.

We have been collecting donations for the Salvation Army in Keighley.

A big thank you to Yorkshire Cleaning and Maintenance for your kind donation of Toys and Games and also to Airdale Hospital for your donation of food and toiletries, and from our families we really appreciate it.

We have had a lovely day decorating our first tree for our home, we enjoyed some Christmas music with a nice cup of Tea whilst we put our decorations on. We have spent lots of time speaking about our favourite Christmas traditions and what they wanted to put on the trees and around their home.

What a lovely morning at Hope Green as we melted chocolate, selected toppings, and chose pink or white marshmallows. Each resident had their own personal decorating station so it was a perfect opportunity to try something a little different and work independently whilst chatting to friends.

To feel more festive in our dining area, Amber Court decided to decorate and make our own centre table piece. Look at how beautiful they are. Everyone enjoyed themselves whilst making them.

Margaret, Roy and the rest of the residents loved the cold and foggy morning. Some of them decided to go outside while drinking their hot chocolate to warm them and a bit of chat with each other. Everyone enjoyed it and want to do it again once in a while.

We won’t let our regular exercise class fall to the wayside even if it is Christmas.

What a lovely time we've been having together as our residents have been considering what their wishes would be as they reflect on the year and look ahead. Group discussion and much thought brought everyone together to think about the things that are important and enjoyable.

River View welcomed the 'Moving On' choir to sing some beautiful carols to the delight of everyone living and working with us.

We all wrapped up warm and cleared our throats, ready to join in with the beautiful voices of the choir, led by Choir Master Derry.
