Baking at Allingham
The residents from each floor at Allingham House got involved in a national baking competition organized by McVities Biscuits Company. The residents baked biscuits from scratch and whilst they biscuits were in the oven, we organized a coffee morning where the residents were reminiscing about the kind of cakes and biscuits that they used to bake. The most popular were fruit cakes. Once the biscuits were ready the residents decorated them with different kinds of edible sparkles, which they really enjoyed.

Halloween at Allingham
We had very busy week getting everything ready to celebrate Halloween, at Allingham House. Our residents enjoyed carving pumpkins and doing flower arrangements to decorate them. We started celebrating Halloween with Trick or Treat in the morning and carried on with a fancy dress competition where the staff wore their spookiest outfits. All our residents enjoyed and Afternoon Halloween Tea with the kitchen provided sandwiches and fresh scones and our admin staff baked delicious, spooky cupcakes that were served with teas, coffees and fizzy drinks.
Acorn Day Nursery Spider Hunt
The children of Acorn Day Nursery are a close community link for Kents Hill Care Home during 'normal' times; joining us for sports days, various activities and having a visit from Santa within the home. We were very excited that we were able to arrange a Halloween Spider hunt for the children in the garden whilst the residents sat inside and watched from the windows. There were lots of happy, smiling faces and hands being 'felt' through the window panes; an emotional reunion for many.

Craft Day at Croft House
Craft day this October for our lovely residents at Croft House Care Home and we made these beauties, they look amazing in the dark.
Happy Halloween
October arrived and with it the build up to Halloween with a variety of light hearted and enjoyable activities. The residents took part in decorating Halloween bunting with a variety of mediums including pens, pencils, tissue paper, oil pastels and chalk pastels. We produced pumpkin artwork whilst decorating a variety of sized and shaped pumpkins with humorous faces which the residents enjoyed and much laughter was shared due to the comical expressions that were made.
Wear it Pink
Staff at Kents Hill Care Home were wearing it pink in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness

Halloween
Turns out, pumpkin carving can be quite hard work! So the residents did the seeds, then let Della do all the hard work before they got creative

Halloween!
We had a great time for Halloween, and how great do the decorations look! We listened to some spooky songs, played some Halloween picture bingo and took some silly selfies! We all had a lot of fun and can't wait until next year!

Keyrings
We tried something a bit different today, and made some keyrings! They look absolutely fabulous and everyone was very pleased with them! They stop keys getting mixed up as well as adding some colour!
