Thank you treats

We were delighted to receive a gift hamper from Phil and the Directors at the home in October as a thank you for all of the hard work we do.  The Head Office fairies snuck in and dropped off three of these fabulous hampers with lots of treats for each unit to share over a cuppa with the residents.  There were biscuits, cakes, popcorn, sweets, chocolate, crisps, latte's and cappuccino's as well as hot chocolate.

Thank you from us all at Rosedale.

Happy Halloween from Rosedale

We had lots of fun during Halloween week at the home which included pumpkin carving and we had a competition on every unit to see who would win for the unit.  We had our faces painted in grisly ghouls and a Halloween party with lots of cake and treats.  We did our own trick or treating in the home by visiting the staff for our treats.

Such a good time was had by all but we do hope next year you can visit us again so we can scare you when you trick or treat.

Games and Crafts

With the weather getting a little colder we have started to do a lot more activities indoors and in October enjoyed such activities as a Domino competition (the ladies were more competitive than the gents), painting little houses in the Brambles unit and sun catchers in the lodge to brighten up our home.

We'd love you to see more of our pictures by visiting us on Facebook so you can see all of the fun we have at the home.

Penny for Guy

Heeley Bank started Bonfire Week with a BANG! Making our very own "Penny 4 Guy".  We had such fun building our Guy and took it around the home so that everyone could see the Heeley Bank Guy.

Halloween Fun

We had a lovely Halloween at Ashfield Court.  We decorated the home and Chef made some spooky cup cakes for us to enjoy.  From us all at Ashfield Court we would like to wish you a very happy Halloween.

Autumn at The Moors

This month at The Moors we’ve been enjoying the crisp autumn weather and trying to get out as much as we can before the winter frost sets in. The residents have been sharing interesting thoughts about the changing seasons with Evelyn pointing out the trees that are changing colour and Margaret said that the grass felt springy underneath her feet.

Happy Birthday's at The Moors

We’ve had lots of big birthdays at The Moors this month! We enjoyed lots of cake and balloons with good music and good company. Shirley, Sheila and Maureen celebrated their birthdays with lots of cards and presents from family, friends and staff, while Bill and John both celebrated their 99th birthdays with big parties full of laughter.

Oak Tree at Acorn

Acorn House have made an oak tree, with the residents. It all started with a cardboard tube, paper, card and papier-mâché and the imagination of Charlotte, Activities and Gavan our maintenance, whose skill in designing and making our tree was excellent as you can see by the photo's. It is an evolving tree and first evolved into an Oak tree which the residents enjoyed making leaves for and painting them autumn colours. It is now become our spooky Halloween tree, where again the residents have enjoyed making decorations for it and helping to decorate.
