Vintage Seaside Café Experience

We have had a vintage seaside cafe experience at Corinthian House in November.

The residents had fish and chips, bread butter and tea, we played seaside themed tunes and the activities team were the waitresses for the day.

We had so much fun decorating the dining rooms, getting dressed up and entertaining the residents and they had a lovely lunch at the seaside.

Singing Performance

We had a lovely day in November when Emily came into the home to sing for us. The residents have really enjoyed themselves singing along and clapping to the songs they knew from last year.

School Visit

We enjoyed a wonderful visit from the local school who came to sing songs to our residents.

Cup Cake Creativity

These delicious looking cup cakes were decorated by some of the people living with dementia here at Kingsbury Court.

As well as being a great afternoon activity that allowed everyone to express their own creativity and love of colour, they were a delight to eat afterwards.

Christmas Cake Competition Results

Back in late October you may have seen pictures of some of our residents making Christmas cakes and each week we have been feeding them brandy in the traditional fashion, in preparation for them to be iced. Everyone worked really hard creating some beautiful designs ready for the final judging of the Brunel House Christmas Cake competition.

Competition was tough and after some lengthy deliberations by our judging panel, it was Waverly Suite who were crowned competition winners with Calendonia Suite as a very close runner up.

Christmas Tree Decorating at Brunel

The 1st December meant only one thing......tree dressing!

We sang and danced to festive tunes and we even had a little count down before doing the light switch on.
