Christmas Card Making

We spent the day making Christmas cards, much fun and laughter enthused as pompoms got stuck to fingers and glitter got everywhere. We had lots of fun though!

Centre Table Setup

To feel more festive in our dining area, Amber Court decided to decorate and make our own centre table piece. Look at how beautiful they are. Everyone enjoyed themselves whilst making them.

Giant Christmas Baubles in Amber Court

Normally Christmas Baubles are used to decorate our Christmas tree, but here in Amber Court we used our old yoga balls and pots to make one and decorated the front of our building. Look how lovely and colourful they are! Everyone passing by and all our visitors felt the spirit of Christmas in them.

Christmas Jumper Day in Amber Court

We celebrated Christmas Jumper Day here in Amber Court. Our kitchen prepared homemade mince pies, hot chocolate and mould wine for everyone. All the staff and residents wore their colourful, fluffiest, ugliest, funniest, and itchiest sweater. We all had a fun day indeed.

Foggy Morning in Amber Court

Margaret, Roy and the rest of the residents loved the cold and foggy morning. Some of them decided to go outside while drinking their hot chocolate to warm them and a bit of chat with each other. Everyone enjoyed it and want to do it again once in a while.

Snow Everywhere in Amber Court

Winter is coming, but here at Amber Court there is a small chance of snow. That is why we decided to decorate our windows to look like we have it. Everything is handcrafted by our talented staff and residents. Using only white papers and scissors. Look how lovely it is. It's a white Christmas here. 

Christmas Post Collection

Following the successful completion of our amazing 2 week Christmas Bike Challenge cycling from River View to Lapland, in support of the The Alzheimer’s Society Elf Day ,Theo the 8 foot bear mascot for The Knights Foundation children’s disability charity came to collect the post and went around the home visiting and saying hello.

The reaction to this from everyone living with us was amazing, as our home was filled with heart warming stories and special greetings from everyone.

German Cookies

Deepdene was awash with the delicious smell of home baked Christmas cookies. We decided to bake some traditional German cookies this year and everyone loved them, they didn’t last long!

Exercise Class

We won’t let our regular exercise class fall to the wayside even if it is Christmas.
