Christmas Spirit

We’re embracing the Christmas spirit in the week leading up to Christmas by making Christmas decorations to hang in the lounge and decorating gingerbread men for everyone in the Home to enjoy.

Family Christmas Tree

This year's Christmas season is different for all of us due to the pandemic. Instead of doing the traditional Christmas tree decorations. We, the Amber Court staffs wanted to create something new and unique for everyone. Christmas is the celebration to keep our families connected in a special way during the season of joy. With this, everyone has an idea of hanging our family photos in the Christmas tree with colourful candy cane frames. From the staff to the relatives, we share a special together.  Overall, we decided to call this special moment the FAMILY CHRISTMAS TREE.

Abingdon Court Christmas Bakery

We have some fine bakers here at Abingdon Court, so it's no surprise that our baking sessions go down so well with those that live here - and as we are entering the festive period, we simply had to make some mince pies!

From rolling out the pastry, filling the cases with the indulgently fragrant mincemeat and baking them in our portable oven - this activity screamed comfort, sparking memories of parents and grandparents stirring up the spices on the stove, and sharing delicious festive treats with family and friends.

Donated Gifts to Riverview

The staff at Dunelm Reading decided this year to give up their secret Santa gifts to the people who live at River View. We would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff. We have been blown away by all the gifts donated and can't wait for Christmas Day to see all the unwrapping and smiling faces.

We are blessed to have local businesses supporting us.

Christmas at The Westbourne

Christmas has arrived at Westbourne and we a fully in the festive swing.

So far, we have had Elf Day which was a huge success, our staff and manager went all out dressing up as Elves for the day which our residents loved. We will also have our domestic Karen, singing amazingly for us on Thursday which we are looking forward to as she has a wonderful voice, we also had a staff Christmas sing along, it was lovely to see our residents engaging with the music and to see smiles on their faces.

Just Bowls at Windmill Court

We were very excited to receive our new bowling kit, along with training from the Just Bowl team recently.

Our first bowling session was a real success, as everyone who participated felt the benefits of some gentle physical exercise and the friendly and fun competition. The afternoon was followed by a bit of homemade Christmas cheer.

Staff Nativity Play

The staff of Clarendon Court are all getting into the festive spirit, entertaining our residents with their own, very unique take on the traditional Nativity play.
