Laundry Day at Deepdene

Evelyn regularly enjoys helping folding the laundry and her family have really appreciated seeing photos of their mum in action whilst visiting is restricted.

Creative Painting

This wooden dolls house was generously donated to Deepdene and our resident Max was able to show off his creativity with his choice of paint colours and design.

Sharing Wedding Memories at Deepdene

Sharing happy memories, life experiences and stories of special occasions from the past, can fill us with good feelings and is such an important part of our lives

Maureen has been enjoying looking back on her wonderful wedding day photos and sharing memories of this special day.

Birthday Celebrations at Heeley Bank

Beautiful home made birthday cake by our wonderful chef at Heeley Bank Care Home for one of our lovely residents. Looking forward to enjoying a slice with a cuppa.

Pebble Painting at Amber Court

One of the activities we have been doing at Amber Court is pebble painting.  Our residents created lovely pebble cactus’s and decorated flowerpots to put them in and they also created a pebble snake.  These creations are now in our residents’ dining room, for everyone to enjoy and were such fun to make.

Flower Arranging Class at Manorhey

Today, at Manorhey Care Centre, we have done a flower arranging class with our residents and made arrangements for our reception areas and lounge spaces. Everybody enjoyed the class and the end results are beautiful.

Happy Birthday Margaret

This is Margaret’s first visit from her son since she came to live with us at Thorntree, as the home went into lock down a day or so later. Margaret has really missed her son Colin, who lives in Perth.

Seeing through scent

This is beautiful Edna. Such a caring, kind and loving lady. Edna loves to be around people and enjoys joining in with different activities. Kirsty, Activities Coordinator arranged an activity that involved planting wonderful flowers within pots, an activity that many in our home enjoyed through the physical movement of digging and deciding how to arrange each plant. For Edna this is not as possible as her poor eye sight means she cannot see where to dig or how to arrange the plants and not even the colour of the flowers.

Let's party like we are Royals

It was the Queen's 94th birthday and here at Abingdon Court Care Home we couldn't let it go without celebrating!

Organising such an event was so much fun and Kirsty, Activities Coordinator couldn't wait to get it all set up. Kirsty arranged a crown making activity in the week leading up to the party to get everyone in the spirit of being Royal for the day.

Happy and Fun Filled Days at Gateford Hill

We have had lots of happy days at Gateford Hill. Residents have been in the grounds to see the horses that are temporarily in our field.

Birthdays have been special recently: Mrs H was 90 years old!  We set the lounge up with drinks, nibbles, cards received by Mrs H and her presents.  We all sang ‘Happy Birthday’ and laughed and cried, as Mrs H remembered loved ones.  After lunch, Mrs H’s family came to see her as a surprise, with appropriate social distancing applied in the garden. Mrs H voiced what a lovely day she’d had.
