Chocolate Day
It was world chocolate day and we indulged in over twenty different varieties of chocolate tasting, served with a mixture of herbal teas. Residents loved the social afternoon and the theme linked songs and some requests along the way. A great afternoon for all at Cavendish Court.

Around the World
Last week was the start of our "Around the World", month. This weeks theme was North American countries.
We started the week with all North-American karaoke.
On Tuesday we had a Mexican meal of fajitas and chilli con carne at dinner time. After, in the afternoon we had a pinata where everyone had the chance to break the sombrero.

Handmade Cards from Ilkley Grammer School
Children from Ilkley Grammar sent our residents at Troutbeck Care Home hand made cards, we were delighted to read them and it gave us all such a lovely boost to be in contact with the outside world. The cards had all been intricately decorated with hand picked flowers and pictures of rainbows that are so relevant at this time. It has been important to know that we have been in the thoughts of others.

Canada Day Wednesday 1st July
Troutbeck Care Home celebrated Canada day on the 1st July this year with (Beaver Tale) pancakes and maple syrup. Residents too part in a quiz on Canada and spoke about what they knew about the climate and some interesting facts.
Some of our residents have visited the country and were able to talk about the experience of being there.

Music Performance at Troutbeck
We have been entertained on a weekly basis by various musicians whom have very kindly volunteered their time to play for care homes in our area. Here are the pics of Steph and Peter Steph is a retired GP who has worked at Troutbeck in the past.
She was delighted to return as a guest and we were equally delighted with the performance. Music is always a great source of entertainment for our residents, it has brought so much joy especially as we have been unable to have families visiting.

Cheese and Wine Afternoon
Always a welcome mid afternoon snack at Troutbeck Care Home in Ilkley and this week we had cheese and wine with a Quiz and music. This is a keen favourite.

Thank You Letters
We have received lots of lovely reviews over the last few weeks and we really do appreciate all the kind words.
Here are a few examples.
"Just want to say a massive thank you , to each and everyone of you for what you are all doing in caring for R, and looking after him and all the other residents at Howgate. Your dedication and commitment to those relying on your efforts can not be praised too highly. Wishing you all the very best and stay safe."

Independance Day Celebrations at Cavendish Court
On the 4th July Cavendish Court held an American Party, where everyone indulged in french toast and homemade cookies whilst listening and singing along to American themed music. Residents were rocking along like the king himself Mr Elvis Presley.
