Flower Arranging

Flower arranging is a favourite creative group activity at Cedar Court. Not only do we enjoy the tea and chatter, the results are always beautiful.

Spring Flowers!

Today we decided as spring is nearly here that we would create our very own take on it. We created these stunning rainbow daffodils; everyone chose how to decorate them and create very beautiful flowers. We were all amazed how wonderful they looked and everyone thoroughly enjoyed creating them.

Imagination Art

We decided today we would have a day of imagination art; I gave the residents numerous items to use whilst using their imagination to create their very own artwork. This worked a treat as it gave them the opportunity to be very creative and use their imaginations to create beautiful art for the home and their rooms.

Flowers

One of our residents received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from her husband which she was so thrilled about. It also gave her an opportunity to recall how much she enjoyed being in her garden, she recalls the memory of how beautiful they smelt and looked as she strolled in her garden, this bought back fond memories for her.

February at Bowerfield House

We've had a heart warming month here at Bowerfield House. We held a coffee morning for World Cancer Day, raising money for the Beechwood Cancer Care Centre in Stockport. We enjoyed a fabulous Chinese meal cooked in house by our chef for Chinese New Year. We didn't end up with too many pancakes stuck to the ceiling when we tossed our pancakes on Shrove Tuesday! We followed pancake day by recognising the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday with an online Church service and silent contemplation.

St David's Day

Celebrating St David's Day at Wyndham Hall, daffodils in abundance! All our residents and staff enjoyed celebrating St David's Day as well as making daffodils and displaying them around the home.

March At Clarendon Court

There's been lots of smiles and laughter at Clarendon Court. We've been relentlessly planning activities for our residents, and having a total mix of subjects means there should be something for everyone, we have also increased the need for one to one chat's and activity in the resident's room or lounge areas and are respecting residents who just want a quiet peaceful time.

St David's Day

An enjoyable and celebrated occasion was held at Ashmead Care Centre on 1st March 2021 for St David’s Day. The theme was Rugby and prior to the day itself, residents were encouraged to make their own Welsh Love Spoon (pictured), an explained of which is below:-

“The custom of giving hand carved love spoons to loved ones began in Wales in the 17th century. A love spoon can be given a meaning depending on the symbols used for its design:-
