Pebble Art

Having an active lifestyle with physical activity and a creative outlet to keep the mind sharp is important as we grow older. Pebble art/painting rocks is an exciting, new activity that sharpens and broadens one’s mind and most importantly delivers numerous health benefits.

Queen's Birthday!

All the Highfield family sent our warmest wishes to Queen Elizabeth II for her 95th birthday! We all enjoyed the afternoon reminiscing about Queen's life history with celebratory national tea day at the same time and thanks to our amazing chef for making quite possibly the nicest homemade Victoria sponge, scones with fresh strawberry and not forgetting the clotted cream!!

Wild West

Today at Manorhey we had a very special themed day. We took a trip to the wild west where we enjoyed activities in the morning followed by a decadent lunch and a western movie in the afternoon with popcorn and drinks. The menu included pulled pork barms, hot dogs, loaded fries, mac 'n' cheese, coleslaw and spicy beans, followed by a sticky toffee pudding which went down a treat.

Flower arranging

Our resident enjoyed a sunny afternoon creating their very own personalised flower displays in the main lounge, using a variety of beautiful flowers. Flower arranging activities are very popular amongst the residents here. We enjoy it with soft background music which is a great stress reliever promoting a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

Grand National!

On the of the Grand National we had horse racing on! Most of our resident really enjoy betting on the horses. The winners are happy showing off their winnings!

World Art Day

On Thursday 15th April the residents joined to the celebrations of World Art Day. We remembered the birth of one of the greatest artists in history. Leonardo Da Vinci, a multidisciplinary artist that created one of the most beautiful pieces of art that we can still admire today. To celebrate this day, the residents created beautiful paintings that have been displayed in the Allingham House Art Gallery. A space where we exhibit the latest pieces of art work from our residents, so everyone can enjoy and appreciate their artistic skills.

National Tea Day

The residents joined to the celebrations of National Tea Day enjoying a traditional afternoon tea. Everyone got involved. Kitchen staff baked fresh scones with jam and clotted cream, also they prepared delicious cucumber sandwiches, meanwhile Pam from admin team baked beautiful cupcakes that the residents really enjoyed.

Pizza Day

Pizza day here at Clarendon Court, what a great job we all did, preparing and then handing over to our chef to pop into the oven ready for our evening snack.

Gardening

The residents and the children from the nursery next door were talking about the importance of recycling. For that reason the residents decided to use tins as pots where you can put seasonal flowers, showing the children an easy way to recycle. Apart from the tins, the residents also decorated plain ceramic pots with acrylic paint and sticks showing them their artistic skills. Finally, they planted begonias and succulent plants creating beautiful pots that have been displayed all around the garden.

Easter celebrations at The Belvedere

Our residents had a lot of fun painting eggs, Easter stands and creating beautiful Easter wreaths. We also had our Easter bunny deliver Easter Eggs to all our residents rooms.
