World Kindness Day & Remembrance Day
To recognise Remembrance Day, the people living at Woodlands created beautiful poppy decorations which were displayed in the lounge.
To celebrate World Kindness Day on Saturday 13th November the Woodlands decorated quotes about kindness. These were displayed around the care home to remind everyone to be kind.
Remembrance at Brunel
We wanted to recognise Remembrance at Brunel House and we hosted a 1940s day.
It was a lovely day from start to finish with both staff and residents participating by dressing up for the occasion. There was a musical playlist, the café was decorated with replicas items which enabled us to reminisce, as well as a themed menu for the day.
The celebrations went on throughout the day. Thank you to all the staff team that supported and gave their help, it is very much appreciated by us all.
Lest We Forget.
Staff at River View Care Home took a moment to quietly remember and pay tribute to all of those who have served in the armed services.
Armistice Day at Birch Heath
For this years Armistice Day everyone at Birch Heath Lodge participated in two minutes silence to pay respect for all those who served in the armed forces.
It was a touching moment to see everyone come together and show their admiration and support.
Personal experiences and memories were shared over a cup of tea.

Food Tasting
Food tasting at Hope Green was a real fun activity session and we're looking forward to doing more of these as our residents and staff are absolutely loving them. Seasonal apples were sliced and tasted along with chocolate, golden syrup, sprinkles and sunflower seeds. Melted chocolate with sprinkles was a definite favourite though.
Remembrance Day at Hope Green
A morning of reflection on Remembrance Day was a great way to celebrate peace and what that looks like in our world today. Residents and staff enjoyed poppy crafts and putting together displays of remembrance through the home. Looking at poems and music about poppies and Flanders Fields prompted interesting stories being shared too, sometimes emotional but always shared with respect and acceptance. A great way of connecting together on this special day
Remembrance Day at Amber Court
Today is Remembrance Day. Everyone in Amber Court take a moment of time to give honour and respect to all the people who have been part of World War. We’ve done this by taking time of silence, activities and artworks with the residents to commemorate our heroes.

Nigel Harmer, maintenance man at Abbey View, was very kind and proud to show us today his beautiful and very mindful medals. Remembrance Day- Lest We Forget
Remembrance Day at The Hawthorns
The lovely people who live at The Hawthorns made some finger print painted poppies which we turned into a field of poppies to remember and honour those who fell whilst defending our freedoms and protecting our way of life. This is pride place when entering the home for everyone to see; staff, residents and families.
We remember them at The Hawthorns
Halloween Fun at Deepdene
The recent Halloween party at Deepdene was amazing. The staff team gave everyone living in the home their best Halloween catwalk show. There were prizes for the best dressed ghouls or witches with some well-deserved prizes.
