Mother's Day at Bowerfield Court

Our residents celebrated Mother’s Day with music by the talented Sam Jones. In the afternoon it was high tea in the sunshine and to finish the day we delivered a rose to each of our very special Mothers.

Greek Independence Day

For Greek Independence Day we celebrated by tasting Greek food and listening to some traditional Greek music. Everyone enjoyed trying new things and dancing to the music!

Mothers day celebrations at Troutbeck

We started the morning with a selection of beautiful hymns to sing along to, in the afternoon we talked about special memories with our Mothers and then of becoming Mothers ourselves. We read poetry and ate delicious cupcakes with fresh fruits, we had lovely chocolates, and flowers were being delivered throughout the day, we had a wonderful day full of fun memories.

Hat Day and Queens Jubilee Celebrations

Bowerfield House had a great day celebrating Hat Day and the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee. We had lots of fun whilst we decorated our home red white and blue, we had our funny hats on for brain tumour research awareness. We enjoyed a lovely meal, our chef made a really royal feast. We had prawn cocktail for starters and a beautiful turkey roast dinner fit for the Queen, we then had a strawberry gateau for desert and little mini cupcakes and the Queen even visited us! We had a singer, Sam, in the afternoon, which the residents loved to sing along to the familiar songs.

Rhian Is Raising Money

''I have chosen to swim 22 miles for Diabetes UK as a result of my nan being an insulin dependent diabetic and seeing how it has affected her life.

Sports Day

Bowerfield House had a great day on Tuesday, the sun was shining and it was lovely to get out in the garden. We had our sports day which included welly throwing, egg and spoon race, bean bag target throwing and hoop throwing on cones, we had so much fun!

We had a much earned rest enjoying an ice lolly and a lovely chat in the garden. It was so nice to get out and enjoy the fresh air, it is the best medicine going and it boosts our vitamin D.

Comic Relief

For the second consecutive year, Allingham House joined to the celebrations of Red Nose Day, organising a Fundraising Coffee Morning. Residents, staff and families joined together on this very special event. I would like to thank everyone for their generosity, helping people across the UK and around the world live free from poverty, violence and discrimination, and supporting people with their mental health.

Hats for Brain Tumour Research 👒👒👒

Last week we gathered at our artist’s table to put our brushes to paper and design our own hats, in a nod to Wear a Hat day in support of Brain Tumour Research.

Whilst mulling over the colours and swirling our brushes, we discussed the important work that Brain Tumour Research does, the impact they have , and how these issues have affected all of our lives in some way or another. 🎨🎨🎨

🔴 RED NOSE DAY 🔴

We had a smashing time drumming up support for Comic Relief: by taking part in Red Nose Day!

Staff were encouraged to wear red in exchange for a donation, whilst we all donned our red noses and spent the day making each other laugh - because laughter really can heal the soul. We are proud to be able to contribute to great causes such as this.
