Chip Butty Challenge
The Belvedere took part in our regional chip butty competition this week. We started off asking our residents what sort of bread they would like to have, what size chip should be on the butty, would we dress our chips in salt and vinegar, what sauces should we put on the side and finally what drink should accompany our chip butty.

Mother’s Day
Every lady was celebrated in River View today – both Mothers and Mother figures.
The home and lunch tables were decorated and each lady living with us had a red heart attached to their door wishing them a Happy Mother’s Day. Daffodils were delivered and displayed all throughout the home. At lunchtime the traditional Sunday roast was served, followed by a luxury afternoon tea with a selection of cakes and treats. Lots of cards and flowers were welcomed throughout the home all day.

Next Stop Portugal
As River View continued their virtual holidays, our next stop was Portugal. Today was a 'flip flop' day for sure.
Entertainer Keith visited River View, playing his guitar and singing some sunshine tunes, which really brought the feel good factor and that flip flop day feeling into our home, prompting a few people to get up and dance.

Red Nose Day Celebrations
River View staff, visitors and residents collected donations totalling £38.00 for Red Nose Day this year, with 1 person winning a wonderful chocolate fountain as a thank you for their contribution over the weekend.

Meet our chef Alan Watt
His creations consist of a Bombay Crispy coating with a difference using his own secret recipe in a hollowed out baguette. Alan also composed triple baked chips in a club sandwich accompanied by Mumbai relish, Dijon mustard mayo, gherkins scraps, pickled egg and pickled onion. For this truly scrumptious dish allow 20 mins to prep,15 to cook. Thanks for a fun day Alan and the best butties we think in the north.

St Patricks Day Celebrations
River View celebrated St Patrick’s Day as we continued on our virtual holiday tour by travelling to Ireland for the occasion.
Green was the colour of the day, even visiting Ambulance crew members were dressed for the celebrations in their green uniforms!
We all chatted about activities and landmarks in Ireland, with several of the people living with us telling us about their time enjoyed on the Emerald Isle .
Our talented kitchen team prepared a banquet which St Patrick himself would have thoroughly enjoyed.
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration in Amber Court
Everyone enjoyed the day full of activities, artworks, entertainment, foods and fun. Look how happy everyone is wearing their mini St. Patrick’s hat. A great day indeed.
Hope Green's Chippy Butty Challenge
Chip Buttys all round at Hope Green, as part of our regional competition to find the best Chip Butty the aim was for our chefs to be as creative as possible. We had a brilliant time tasting different variations on the traditional chip butty. The judging team was made up of people who live in the home, staff and our regional team. Thank you so much Hope Green for the splendid and wonderfully tasty visit!
Chip Butty Challenge
Earlier this month we took part in the chip butty challenge. It was a great fun team effort. Our chef Dave freshly baked three different types of homemade bread. We had brioche , melted cheese drizzle and buttery herbed bread. The chips made by Caitlin were triple cooked with sea salt and rosemary, this made for a unique and tasty blend. Our residents enjoyed sampling them with a Sauce of their choice and a glass of prosecco to celebrate International Woman's Day. We finished the afternoon learning a few fun facts about chips and their origin.
Around The World In Chip Butties
What a great opportunity it has been for our residents as we participated in the Chip Butty Care Home Challenge.
We decided to be creative and innovative choosing the theme, Around the World in Chip Butties.
