London Inspired Tea Room
For this months regional tea room competition and with the Platinum Jubilee celebrations around the corner, Birth Heath Lodge decided to show our patriotism by creating a London inspired Tea room.
The residents helped create the city atmosphere with an enormous Big Ben replica with a real clock face. Pictures of London Monuments, famous buildings and London born celebrities filled the walls.

May Day Tree Planting 🌳
The Queen's Green Canopy is an initiative running nationwide to encourage people to plant a tree to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We are blessed with a garden full of
beautiful trees, but we thought this would be a great opportunity to start planting in the front of the home where we have plenty of space. But we couldn’t stop there…
Coffee Morning and Afternoon BBQ
Residents, staff and families, joined together in a Fundraising Coffee Morning and Afternoon BBQ, a whole day of celebrations to raise money for Dementia UK and Alzheimer's Society.
We raised the Amazing amount of £580.
I would like to thank especially kitchen staff for providing the food and beverages and the families, relatives and members of the community, who joined us to this celebration and raise money to support families living with dementia.
Thank you very much to everyone for your generosity!!!

Beverley putting a new spin on the term Green fingers...
Fresh air, relaxing music and a coffee went down a treat.
A lovely afternoon had by all.
Platinum Jubilee Preparation
Platinum Jubilee decorations are filling our home at Hope Green and are extending to the gardens to give our visitors a Royal Welcome. Residents and staff have been busy creating in the craft club, and also out in the gardens with ribbons, bunting and bows. We're a great team at Hope Green and enjoy working alongside each other to celebrate events throughout the year and the Platinum Jubilee for our Queen is definitely something to celebrate in style.
Ice Cream Van
We were visited by a local ice cream van yesterday, nothing beats an ice cream on a very sunny day! We all enjoyed our fabulous ice cream cones, some with sauce and some with sprinkles.

Herb Garden
We planted our herb garden this morning but also combined it with a sensory activity. Before we planted our herbs we had a little smelling and taste game, our residents got to smell our herbs and have a little taste before they guessed what they were. Our overall winner was our lovely Jane who won a little award for her efforts. Once we planted our herbs we gave them a good water and placed them in the garden where they belong.
Homemade Pasta
Our residents love to cook so we had a challenge last week and made homemade pasta and a vegetarian sauce for vegetarian week, great fun was had by all and the results were delicious!
