CONGRATULATIONS CAMILLE!
PASSED! Camille, one of our newly hired international nurse, recently passed her OSCE exams held in Ulster University. She has been taking shifts for four months now, shadowing the registered nurses and helping with care in Amber Court. While doing these, she has been non-stop preparing and reviewing for this qualifying exams. She is more than grateful on the support she received from the company. She will soon be joining the NMC register and the care home is excited to have her function as a registered nurse! Congratulations, Camille.
Nurses Day at River View
Congratulations and thank you to all the nurses out there. You do a brilliant challenging role. River View thanked their current nurses as well as our own 98 year old legend of a lady who started her nursing career in the UK at The Royal Berkshire Hospital. Thank you for all your service 🙏
Carers Day at Riverview
River View celebrated Carers day with the fabulous team in house last week.
We also recognise the amazing work that our community do for so many people around us. River View Care Centre wanted to thank them also with a little gift just to make the coffee break a little bit nicer.
We can’t personally thank you all, but I'm sure all the people that you care for, and more, definitely do.
BY ROYAL APPOINTMENT
A very special visitor arrived to conclude our Platinum Jubilee celebrations in the shape of our Lifestyle Coordinator - Queen Raj!![]()
Hospitality Hero Nomination
We would like to congratulate our Hospitality Manager, Dammi, for being nominated for the 'Hospitality Hero Award'.
Dammi has worked at River View since Maria Mallaband took over the home in 2017.
Many of you will recognise her and see her around the home and know that she has contributed to the many events in the home along with her daily duties. Dammi has worked in the care sector for over 20 years and has introduced this line of work to her family also.
Dammi will represent The River View Care Home at an Awards Dinner in July, along with the other 3 finalists.
What better way to start our day!
What a way to start our day!. Gentle stretches and core strength exercises with Melanie who is brilliant at motivating and encouraging participation. Yoga balls are proving very popular in these sessions which sees the numbers increasing week on week. A fantastic way to boost energy, increase stability and balance and a great way to work up that appetite for lunch!.
Just Bowl
Another cracking afternoon when much fun was had with a spot of outdoor bowls!. 'Just Bowl' is an innovative and exciting activity that encourages individuals of all ages, particularly those over 60 to get active. Recent pilots that took place across several care homes showed that residents who participated in the programme felt the physical and mental benefits whilst improving their sense of well-being. We had a fantastic amount of fun, friendly competition and of course ice lollies to keep us cool!.
Thank you
We wanted to thank our amazing local fire crew for their support and hard work so we organised them a hamper for their tea room which we hope that they all really enjoy.
Employee of the Month
We really enjoy celebrating our amazing team at Chestnut Court and this month we had a joint winner. We wanted to highlight the amazing work that the lifestyle team do at the home organising events, games, activities and spending time with the people who live with us. Well Done Ladies!
