Visit From Pippa
Pippa the PAT dog joined the team at Hope Green and was welcomed by everyone including our manager who was delighted to get involved. Pippa's owner has a wealth of knowledge about dogs too so residents were very keen to ask lots of questions and find out all about Pippa, who is now 10years old. The benefits of PAT dogs is widely appreciated and we are very grateful to have such a lovely addition to our team. Pippa will now be visiting us regularly when she can fit us in her diary so we're going to have treats ready for her next visit.

KEMP Hospice 'Butterfly Release' community event
We thoroughly enjoyed meeting with KEMP Hospice and are so delighted to be sponsoring their forthcoming ‘Butterfly Release’ event to be held at Bodenham Arboretum. This will be taking place on Saturday 10th September.
This very special day will see our local community join together to personally release their own Painted lady butterfly into the beautiful, butterfly friendly grounds whilst remembering their loved one.
It was just wonderful for the team and some of our ladies and gentlemen to be able to start planning this unique and memorable day.
Community Summer BBQ
Earlier in the month Birch Heath Lodge held their summer community BBQ, here are a few highlights of the event.

10 Years Of Service
Natalie Smith celebrated her 10 years of service at Alexandra Court. Natalie's dedication to the residents, families and colleagues has no bounds, she’s a true GEM and an asset to MMCG . We cant wait to have a slice of the celebration chocolate cake!

Baby Shower Party
We surprised one of our colleagues with a baby shower party, none of our residents had experienced a baby shower so this was an entirely new experience for them. We had hand made baby cupcakes, a 3 tired nappy cake, drinks games and gifts. It was a lovely day for everyone, staff and residents.
Visit From The Lord Mayor
On our Emergency Service Appreciation day the Lord Mayor popped in for a cuppa and chat .
Beverley insisted on a picture with the Lord Mayors car.
District nurses grabbed a water on the go. A lovely day had with our local services , Happy and surprised by our appreciation
Birch Heath Lodge Community BBQ
Birch Heath Lodge threw the care home open on Friday with a wonderful outdoors seaside themed BBQ on Friday. Invitations went out to all our friends, families and neighbours. Mike, our Chef, was in charge of the BBQ, we had burgers and sausages, his team also made some lovely fresh salads to accompany. We had a visit from the Ice cream van which went down a storm as did our wonderful vocalist who started of the afternoon’s events, Hook a duck - bat a rat – Hoopla plus our fab tombola.

Remembering Our Friends
We spent the day remembering the folks we have lost, we started the day with a memorial service. Following we hung our first pictures on our new memorial wall. In the afternoon we laid the rocks we painted in honour of our favourite gardener and self professed grumpy old git and remembered the joy each of these wonderful people brought to our lives.
