Milkshake Day at Ashmead – back by popular demand!

The Lead Dietitian from St Georgie’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust brought her team to Ashmead Care Centre for a wonderful milkshake and exercise afternoon. Residents enjoyed seated exercises prior to making all form of favoured milkshakes from start to consumption. A wonderful time was had by all.

May Day at Allingham

May Day is a festival celebrated in England and all across Europe since ancient times. It marks the middle way between spring and summer equinox.

The residents joined to this festival in the traditional way. During the morning, they made different sizes Maypoles that later on were displayed all around as a decoration to celebrate this day.

VE Day at Allingham

VE day is celebrated all over Europe every 8th May since 1945 to commemorate the end of the WWII in Europe. The residents and staff joined to the celebrations with a traditional VE Day party. Everyone enjoyed making their own Union Jack Flags and Bunting that was displayed all around the home.

Also, the residents enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea where cakes, biscuits, tea and coffee were served for everyone to enjoy.

Finally, the residents sang and danced the most popular songs in WWII from It's a long way to Tipperary to We'll meet again by Vera Lynn.

Our very artistic residents creating their very own work of arts using buttons. We really love an afternoon of arts and crafts at Clarendon Court, always accompanied by cake and coffee of course!

Potting of our Jubilee Tree

On receiving the news of a tree for the Jubilee, our lovely residents were made up to hear of the two occasions coming together.

After a lot of consideration the residents opted for a colourful tree to brighten up their environment on this special occasion.

Painting Club

In painting club we tried out some new aquapaint canvasses, the residents loved the ‘magic’ of seeing what colours and patterns would appear with just a sweep of the brush, perfect for anyone to have a go. It made for a lovely calm afternoon of painting and conversation.

Nurses Appreciation Day at Howgate

For Nurse Appreciation Day our lovely residents got involved making thank you cards with Calligraphy writing presented with a bouquet of flowers and a gift. Suggestions of cup cakes and a cuppa our residents promoted to add a bit of sweetness to our nurses day.

A lot of love and appreciation flowed. A big thank you to the nurses all across the globe, we think your amazing !!

Live Music at Hope Green

Live Music Returns to Hope Green - residents and staff welcomed a trio of musicians into the home to enjoy a toe tapping hand clapping afternoon of music. Neon hats, colourful percussion and props made this session complete as we danced and sang through the afternoon. A very big thankyou to all the local musicians in our community who share their talents with us.

Queen's Tree

Toasting our Queen after we have planted our commemorative tree, a cherry blossom, chosen by our Resident's committee. Accompanied by Helen our Deputy Manager and of course the Queen herself (well nearly!).
