Our Local Duck Pond

With the weather cooling down we enjoyed a walk and getting out into the fresh air.  With our home being in a rural location we are lucky to be close to our local duck pond.  How lucky we are to have such a beauty spot on our door step?

March Mill Tavern Visit

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY WITH DOROTHY AND CAROLINE, TWO OF OUR LOVELY RESIDENTS, THEY ENJOYED THE WEATHER WITH A ICE CREAM AT MARCH MILL TAVERN.

Ice Cream Van Visit

The home was visited again this week by the ice cream man! Which was a lovely way to cool down in the heat. Residents enjoyed coming outside to pick what they wanted and listen to the music.

Artwork Of Billy

Following the visit with our new best friend 'Billy the donkey' our residents have been creating the most amazing artwork, this picture is just fantastic and really captures Billy's lovely personality. We really can't wait for his next visit.

Theatre Trip

Yesterday we had a trip to saint George's Hall.

The ladies were blown away with the live Ballet, Jazz and Tap Wonderland performance.

Some of our own shining stars Danced through the night.

A truly magical evening.

Summer Sing and Smile

Although it was a bit drizzly outside our Summer Sing and Smile still went ahead as we moved indoors. Residents’ families joined us for an afternoon of live music, as we all sang and danced to our favourite songs. A wonderful afternoon full of joy and smiles.

Men's Club

Men’s club was enjoyed this week where we themed it about our jobs and where we worked along with our regular games like the dart board and competitive bean bag throwing. Firstly they were asked to draw out their uniforms that they worn, this really jogged their memories and it was lovely to see their faces light up and feel pride in themselves. Once done they presented them to the group and explained very proudly where they worked, what they enjoyed about their job, the places they travelled and the list goes on.

Sensory Session

Our lovely residents had individual visits in their rooms during this week. Some chose to have a book read to them, for others a sensory session was done. We were able to get a very joyful reaction from one of our residents during the session.

Birthday Celebrations

We had a wonderful time together celebrating a resident’s birthday. As music and singing is a favourite for the birthday girl we put on some of our favourite tunes and had a good sing along, waving colourful scarfs to the music and some not being able to resist getting up on their feet for a dance.

Community Summer BBQ

Earlier in the month Birch Heath Lodge held their summer community BBQ, here are a few highlights of the event.
