Batley Hall's November Newsletter
Here at Batley Hall we have lots of activities planned for our Autumn / Winter programme, these are designed to be stimulating but above all fun.
We started November with our bonfire party where we had music and dancing, apple bobbing and lots of cake and toffee apples.
Moving forward through November we are holding our Bollywood night on the 13th where we will be watching a Bollywood film and residents will have the opportunity to try a variety of Asian dishes.
Remembrance Sunday at Yohden Care Complex
Remembrance Day is upon us again and this year we celebrate the 101st anniversary. To mark this important day the activities coordinators at Yohden Care Complex Donna Parks and Jill Ramshaw decorated the lounge with the assistance of our residents with posters and home made poppies which were made during an activity. A table of remembrance was made with a newspaper, ration card and medals from the War.
Autumn / Winter Activities Programme at Clarendon Court
Here at Clarendon Court we are well into our Autumn / Winter programme. We have a varied activity programme designed to be interesting, give stimulation and above all a fun experience.

What really makes the difference at Barnes Court is a sense of fun and community which has been fostered by their Activities Co-ordinator Sue Hutchinson.
Supporting Others at Field View Care Home
They say home is where the heart is and at Field View Care Home, Hesleden Road, Blackhall we are most certainly the care home which cares.
In 2019 we are delighted to say we have raised £545 for charity this year. In April we raised £160 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind association by organising a bring and buy sale and our lovely residents also knitted and crocheted blankets for the dogs whilst in training.
Hamper Winner at Troutbeck
Congratualtions to Mr Fry, resident at Troutbeck Care Home in Ilkley on winning the wonderful McMillan Coffee Morning Hamper.
The home raised £120 with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support. Thank you to everyone who donated and entered the raffle we have been delighted to support such a worthy Charity and Mr Fry was very pleased with his hamper.
Troutbeck presents cheque to St Margarets Parish Church
On Tuesday 1st October Julie, Activities Coordinator at Troutbeck Care Home presented Father Phillip of St Margarets Parish Church, Ilkley with a cheque for £143.50 and a box of homemade chocolate cupcakes from fundraising at events within the home.
Father Phillip was delighted to receive the cheque and he spent a couple of hours having coffee and spending time with residents.
Community Dementia Café Event at The Belvedere
The Belvedere Care Home in Alderley Edge hosted a Community Dementia Café on Wednesday 9th October. Residents, relatives and visitors were entertained by Desi Uke and his marvellous Ukulele. Angela our Activities Coordinator arranged lots of Dementia related activities for visitors, professionals and residents to take part in. The afternoon ended with afternoon tea and a raffle.
Halloween Fun at Argyle House
The residents, relatives and staff got into the "Spirit" of Halloween when they dressed up for the day. There were witches, ghosts and ghouls a plenty. Preparation started well before the day with all the decorations being made by residents in arts and craft classes.
Halloween Fun at Bridge House Care Home
Witches, wizards and magical cats walked the corridors of Bridge House Care Home last week, as staff took great delight in dressing up in an array of spooky costumes for Halloween.
Residents spent the morning baking Halloween-themed cakes and really enjoyed the specially prepared themed menu designed to celebrate the day.
Annie Lewis, Home Manager at Bridge House, said “It was a lovely celebration and the residents really enjoyed the baking along with the fantastic magician who came to entertain us all in the afternoon”.
