Yohden Care Complex remains Good by CQC

Yohden Care Complex on Hesleden Road, Blackhall are delighted to announce after their recent CQC inspection they have remained at GOOD. Yohden Care Complex was inspected in January 2019 and then again in February 2020. CQC inspected the service and grades are based on whether they find that the service is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led and all aspects were rated as good.

Valentine's Week at White Rose Lodge

February brought with it Valentines and this year we decided to have a weeks worth of Valentines related activities.

Sparking reminiscence for residents at White Rose Lodge

White Rose Lodge was delighted to welcome Jo from the Co-op Funeral Care Company. Jo brought with her a large memory box filled with items of interest for the residents of historical relevance in the hopes of sparking reminiscence. Jo invited residents to delve into the box to see if anything caught their eye. Many memories were shared, smiles and positive emotional reactions were experienced in this activity.

Cavendish Court creating links with local Hospice

This week we have been joined with 4 members of the hospice at home staff, they have been working along the staff at Cavendish Court to experience life in a care home.

The staff have joined in with all elements of care home life, including a trip to the museum with some residents. This has created strong links with our local hospice, encouraging staff now wanting to take part in placement / experience at the Hospice.

Resident Celebrates 103rd Birthday at Cavendish Court

Isabella celebrated her 103rd birthday this week at Cavendish Court with her family and staff. We enjoyed cake, music and reminiscing.

Residents at Hope Green enjoy a day of baking

Our residents at Hope Green took part in a bit of baking. Residents helped melt chocolate, cover the rice crispies and cornflakes and pop them in paper cases.

They then got to enjoy them later with a cup of tea. 

Love in mind at Troutbeck Care Home

Troutbeck Care Home celebrated Valentines day 2020 in style.



We celebrated with Food Music and specially selected poetry all with Love in mind.



Valentines day is a time to celebrate all forms of love, for partners, families and friends. We read the History of Saint Valentine and where the tradition originated, we had chocolates,cakes, bucks fizz  and we did a prize quiz. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all of our residents.

Valentines Day celebrations at Cavendish Court Care Home

Staff at Cavendish Court celebrated Valentine’s day with residents and attended work in their Pyjamas. A great atmosphere and fun had by all.

Garden Hill residents celebrate in style at 1940's themed party

We had a great time on 20th January hosting a 1940's party.  We got dressed up and had our hair done by our activities coordinator Stacey Adams.  We had old songs playing on the record player, arts and crafts and food tasting from back in the day.

We had Battenburg cakes and fruit scones for their afternoon tea snack and then evening meal we had Woolton Pie for dinner with jam roly poly for dessert. 

Love is in the air at Astor Court

Love is in the air at Astor Court and we are celebrating Valentines' Day with our residents,  All of our lady residents were given a rose which they were delighted to receive.  We also have a few couples who live in the home and a private dining area was set up with tables for two for their romantic lunch. Our romantic gents stepped up to the occasion and presented their lovely ladies with a rose and teddy bear.

We had a Valentine's Bingo in the afternoon to win some lovely chocolates to go with their single Red Roses.
