Here at Clarendon Court we have had a splendid Mad Hatters tea party. Our Chef and his assistant made a beautiful cake that was enjoyed by all and really did go in a flash. Carl our activities gentleman decorated our tearoom with all the lovely decorations  and table settings . A lovely afternoon had by residents and staff  who cant wait for the next indoor event. 

We had a brilliant indoor street party at Bowerfield House Care Home. Staff and residents got all dressed up and had a fabulous time. Look at the wonderful cake our housekeeper made for the occasion, lots of smiles and full tummies. 

World Harmony Day reminds us of inclusivity and having a place to belong. Here at White Rose Lodge we want to remind people of their importance and worth. Therefore we created a couple of activities to invite social interaction. Residents began by working in pairs to play a memory game of finding the matching pairs. The game involved the flags and names of countries from the European Union. Which is a body of countries that come together in partnership for political and economic reasons. Which we felt captivated the notion of working together for world harmony day.

White Rose Lodge was delighted to welcome a group of 2-4 year olds from Cliffe House Nursery at the beginning of March. The news of their visit aroused excitement among the residents. Many of the residents gathered in anticipation for their arrival. They arrived with bundles of energy and excitement to share some learnt nursery rhymes with the residents. The young children appeared quite at home whilst they performed twinkle, twinkle, little star, three little monkeys and a variety of well known nursery rhymes and songs.

At Kents Hill Care Home we have many community links; its such a lovely support network.  During these difficult times that are sweeping across the world we have received much love from our local Schools/ Nurseries and Community. Rainbows are flooding through the door daily - 'there is always sunshine at the end of the Rainbow', we are receiving cards of love and thoughts and flowers from our local Tesco Store. We are definitely feeling the love. We are in this together.

One of our loving carer's Sharon has a hidden talent; Hairdressing. She has been taking her time to take the residents down to the hair salon when on shift and off shift (coming in on her days off) to make them feel extra special during these strange times. Our hairdressers haven't been able to the visit the home for a few weeks now and many of the residents were feeling the effects of there lack of weekly hairdressing routine along with that 'FEEL GOOD' factor that getting your hair done feels like. Sharon is doing an amazing job as is everyone else; keep up the great w

The Belvedere recently gained a new resident, Bobby the budgie.

Bobby belonged to a lovely lady that resided within the home, and upon her sad passing, staff asked the family whether Bobby may be able to stay, both in her memory and to provide joy to the friends and neighbours she left behind. 

The family were kind enough to allow this, and Bobby has since received a few upgrades!

Our residents at Batley Hall Care Home in Batley, West Yorkshire had a lovely surprise this week when they received some letters through the post  from the students at Redbourne Upper School and Community College.

We all thoroughly enjoyed reading them and send a massive thank you to the school for taking the time to write to us. Love from residents and staff at Batley Hall.

Here at Earsdon Grange Care Home in Whitley Bay we have been overwhelmed by the support and generosity of our local taxi firm and Greggs. 

It would also be very remiss of us not to mention our local taxi firm, East Coast Taxi’s in Whitley Bay.  They have come to our aid and offered to help staff get to and from work to keep them safe in these uncertain times and have offered a staggering 50% discount to all of our colleagues at the Home.  Your generosity will not be forgotten, thank you.
