VE Day Celebrations

We were blessed with beautiful weather for VE day and so we took our celebrations into our gardens to celebrate with a garden party.

We decorated the inside of Brunel House and of course outside, with bunting, photographs and garden games. We served afternoon tea, listened to music and played lots of lawn games. It was a perfect day.

Dinner Time

A huge thank you to everyone at local Putney based catering company Dinner Ladies, who have been fundraising via Just Giving to provide meals for front line workers

Ashmead was lucky enough to be amongst the local care homes who received a delivery of individual food portions and drinks which was really appreciated.. The food was delicious, and we can’t thank you enough for thinking about all of us working on the front line in the local care homes and hospitals during this challenging time.

Healing Hector Visits Abingdon Court

We may not be allowed visitors of the human kind so Healing Hector stepped into Abingdon Court Care Home to spread some joy and happiness. As colourful hector ran towards the front door he raised many smiles both inside and outside the building.

Covid-19 may take away many of our activities temporarily but Covid cannot take away the memories of this special day.

Live Entertainment at Bowerfield Court

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of VE day we had live social distancing entertainment at Bowerfield Court Care Home. One of our regular singers agreed to sing for us in the back garden while the residents watched from the far side of the lounge and the dining area. It was such a treat to have Deborah perform for us and everyone was so pleased to see live entertainment for the first time in about 8 weeks.

Floral Surprise

It’s certainly a day for surprises and thank you`s at Troutbeck Care Home. One of our lovely family's sent these beautiful flowers to the home.

Dominoes Pizza Surprise

Dominos Pizza appeared at our front door and gave us some lovely pizzas for our staff and residents to enjoy. They tasted delicious and a massive big thank you from all at Troutbeck Care Home.

Waitrose Gift

A big thank you  to our friends at Waitrose Poynton for the lovely goodie bag dropped off for residents and staff.

Kind and Generous Gifts

We have some really lovely, kind and generous families at Hope Green. Recently we received a fabulous gift of cakes from the Sinclair family for staff and residents. Thank you again for such gorgeous cakes.

Childhood Memories

Author Gillian Mawson kindly sent Bowerfield House a copy of her book Evacuees it’s about the lives of children who were evacuated in WW2. Gillian`s idea was for the book to be read to residents to help prompt childhood memories. Thank you Gillian for your kindness.
