Send A Friend A Card Day
Clarendon Court are embracing send a friend a card day on Saturday 7th February. We have had some e cards created and a little pocket hug to send to our friends and relatives to remind them we are thinking about them.
Activities At Wyndham
Despite national lockdown our activities team are still able to engage in individual activities with our residents - playing scrabble, creativity with feathers and completing jigsaws. Or just enjoying some goodies!
We remain totally committed to social distancing and using PPE to protect all who live and work here at Wyndham Hall.
Minute Your Moves campaign, AGE UK Bromsgrove, Redditch & Wyre Forest
Team Wharf have joined Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch & Wyre Forest community campaign to get everyone moving more. Our residents are supporting our local district, Wyre Forest, in recording all the minutes that they spend moving when doing activities. It is proving to be a real success and a brilliant motivation tool to get moving with a real sense of team and community spirit.
Go Betty go go go!
Betty loves exercise and is always on the go here at The Wharf!. So much so we're taking delivery of a treadmill so that Betty and our residents who love to get moving can get their daily workouts in whatever the weather!.
Family Zoom Calls
This resident was playing with playdough over zoom with her granddaughter and husband watching and chatting to her.
Allingham's Week
The last week, the residents could go in the garden to enjoy the beautiful view of the snow, also we had time to discover the foot prints of two of our "friends", two beautiful foxes that used to visit us from time to time and to make the first snowman of the season.
Futhermore, the residents joined to the celebration of Burns Night, when we remembered the figures of the poet Robert Burns. The residents enjoyed reading and colouring an illustrated poem of Robert Burn, A Red, Red Rose.
LGBT February Awareness Month
Bowerfield Court and Bowerfield House staff and residents are celebrating LGBT February awareness month.
This year's national awareness month is looking at LGBT history and the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movement. Some of the history included covers role models, community building and represents major contributions of the LGBT community. Very topical and interesting.
Relaxing Art Session
With the beginning of a new year we decided to introduce new ideas within activities. One of the ideas discussed alongside residents in an activities meeting, was to begin a weekly relaxing art session. That would be designated to creating artwork for the walls of the home, calling it ‘Bringing the home to life’.
The Spotlight Theatre Company
The Spotlight Theatre Company is the home of Bridlington Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (BAODS) and a registered charity. They offer a space for rehearsals and community activities, whilst also live streaming from world famous companies of opera, ballet and drama productions.
Morning Of Friendships
Music, bubbles and a glass of port made a great combination for a joyful morning of friendship and conversation. It was great to enjoy the lovely atmosphere together, say 'cheers' to friends and have a thoroughly wonderful time.
