Victorian Peg Dolls

Residents have enjoyed making Victorian peg dolls. There wasn't a sound during this activity; they were all totally engaged. They were so pleased with the results and so proud of their dolls.  A lot of the residents remember making peg dolls when they were little with their mums and grandmas.

Menu Tasting

The feedback from the people living with us and their friends and family members is important, and we wanted to give them opportunity to create their own autumn/winter menu. There was a selection of ideas from our head chef, Daniel to get residents and family members inspired to talk about what they do and don’t like.  He created a mixture of flavours and ideas to share with the group who attended who all really enjoyed the food on offer.

Art Class

At this weeks art class, residents learned the technique of applying textures and light and dark shades to background colour as the base for their paintings. They then had to learn brush technique for the flowers and mixing paints.

It was lovely to see more residents taking part in this popular activity,  it was the first time they had lifted a paintbrush to create a picture.

We think you will agree they all did an amazing job!

The photographs show their finished work, well done to all.

Jimi Hendrix

Venimus, canebamus, totus erat groovy! We came, we sang, all was groovy! On 29th July, 2022, four wandering minstrels decided to beam down to the Troutbeck Care Home with the avowed intent to strum a few chords for the entertainment of all present and to celebrate an unusual concert given there by Jimi Hendrix in 1967. We found an audience for Jimi at the Troutbeck that he could never have imagined 55 years ago when he himself played in the building.

MacMillan Coffee Afternoon at Parkview House

On Saturday 20th August 2022 Parkview House held a Coffee Afternoon in aid of MacMillan Cancer support.

We had a really good turnout from the families and friends of the people living with us and were entertained by singer Cheryl King. Outside garden games for all ages and abilities, along with refreshments made for a fantastic afternoon.

We raised a total of £180.81 for the charity and thank everyone for their kind donations.

Trip To The Garden Centre

The residents of Manorhey Care Centre visited the J Parker's Garden Centre in the afternoon.

They enjoyed all the different plants, colours and smells.

One of the residents comment on how amazed she was with all different shades of green.

Then to finish they had a cup of tea and coffee each at the garden café.

Photography Day

On photography day, some of Manorhey residents went to a nearby farm.

They were indulged with the amazing view, horses, birds and flowers around.

They took pictures of their surroundings. It was a pleasant afternoon.

Free Hand Painting

For one of this week's morning, our residents had a free hand painting session.

They decide to draw the first thing that come to their mind.

Some draw animals, even wrote the noises that those same animals do.

Chestnut Court CQC Good

We are thrilled to be able to show the community our recent CQC Good score from our recent inspection on our new banner outside of the home.

Park Walk

Taking advantage of the good weather again this afternoon we went on a walk through our local park, then strolled around the local pet shop having a look at all the animals and the tropical fish on display. Everyone enjoyed the fresh air ☺️
