Dragon Marionettes
St George's Day preparations are well under way here at Bowerfield Court. We have painted and assembled our very own way dragon marionettes and practised using them ready for our planned puppet show. We are currently making our St George marionettes and will be retelling the story of St George and the Dragon at our themed party next week.

Bunny Ears
We had great fun with our blown up bunny ears and hoops over the Easter period.

Easter Egg Hunt
We had a great time searching for the Easter Eggs we all shared and everyone enjoyed a chocolate egg.

Puzzles and Fun at Hope Green
A lovely morning of puzzles, music and fun for residents and staff at Hope Green. We'll definitely be doing this activity together again soon as it was a great success.
Flower Arranging
Today the residents created some beautiful bouquets doing some flower arranging. They picked which vase they wanted to use first, then selected which flowers to use. Some residents used scissors to cut the stems and others asked for help. The flowers were carefully placed in the vase and moved into the position they were happy with. The residents talked about the colours and scents of the flowers, what their favourite flowers were and how they were taught to arrange flowers when they were younger.
Woodland's Activities
Our residents enjoyed a game of scrabble. We have some very good players, the highest score on our last game was 144. We also enjoy arts and crafts, displaying our works along the corridors. Presently we are doing a display called 'Heidi', we are reading this book together weekly in the lounge.

Dominoes
Dominoes is a suitable game the elderly and adults with learning disabilities can play and thoroughly enjoy. Dominoes can also be used for simple matching and sorting activities for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s and is a great way to boost ones working memory. It can also provide smooth tactile input and are visually stimulating.

Promote Positive Well Being
We talked about 5 things today to help promote positive well being. I asked the residents to name the following: something that makes you happy, something that makes you smile, something that you like to do, something that makes you laugh and something that makes you feel safe. Some answers came very quickly to the residents, especially what makes them laugh. Others took a little more time to answer each question carefully. It was interesting to find out what makes them safe. The answers varies from a hug, the environment, being close to someone or just being here with us.
Winning
Gwen won the most games on Monday, she really enjoyed playing. Dorothy won today for the most won games. All winners are recorded and at the end of the month prizes are given out, all residents love this.
Daffodil Making
Spring has sprung at Kings Court and residents have been having fun making daffodils as part of the regular arts and craft session.
