Skype Call

We had a lovely catch up recently with a dear friend.  One of our activities team recently moved to Dubai and we called her on Skype.    She loved catching up with everyone at The Hawthorns and we were thrilled to bring her up to date with how we are all doing. She showed us photos of what she's been up to and we were all so happy to have this catch up and check in. Big smiles all round!

World Nursery Rhyme Week

We celebrated world nursery rhyme week in style!

The people living and working at Brunel House dressed for the occasion. There was a big party that lasted the whole day with an endless supply of cakes and sweets. The day ended with a themed nursey rhyme quiz. It was just one of those really fun, silly days.

Remembrance Day Activities at The Belvedere

In our home we had many activities to remember and honour the memory of those who served, are currently serving and those we have lost.

'Lest We Forget'.

We had a lovely time crafting for Remembrance Day. We painted pictures and created poppies using paper plates, red and black paint and cupcake cases and once it had all dried we turned it into bunting for our lounge. We listened to some amazing stories from our residents family history which they were so proud to tell.

Trip Out

We had a lovely trip last week with our residents. We took advantage of the weather and made our way to our local park making a stop for a cup of tea and yummy cake at our local deli.

Diwali Celebrations

This year Knights Court celebrated Diwali in style!  Diwali or Deepavali is one of the biggest and auspicious festivals celebrated by Hindus all around the globe. The festival of lights signifies peace and joy, the victory of good over evil, and light over darkness every day. It is one of the most symbolic Hindu festivals celebrate.

Lest We Forget

Buckingham House was filled with poppies for Remembrance Day 2021. Everyone who lives with us played their part in remembering those we have lost.

A moving day had by all.

Weekly Blog 1/11/21- 5/11/21

This week has been really exciting our residents have been really busy. They have enjoyed a good pamper getting facials, manicures and have enlightened their day by listening to the power of music. Our lovely residents got physical in get fit exercise, where we did head to toe exercises. We also switched the activity up a little and used pom poms to make it more fun for our residents. This week we played bingo, "does your mother know that we played bingo", as our residents like to say. We played for a line and then the full house and had 2 games.

Remembrance Day at Bowerfield House

Bowerfield House worked hard on getting the home ready for Remembrance Sunday. We decorated the house inside and out, painted pebbles red and black and made a piece of art for the garden.

The pebbles were placed in the shape of a poppy and we decorated the reception and lounges. Poppy's have been on sale at Bowerfield House where staff, residents and their families were able to buy one.

We had musicians and a singer to celebrate our Remembrance Day.
