Carmel's Art
One of our residents has a very talented husband who creates many pieces of art for his wives bedroom walls. This time he sketched a wonderful piece for our home which we have proudly framed. He is also collaborating with our activities team to design our Christmas card , which we will look forward to sharing with you.

Clarendon Court's Carol Concert
Clarendon Court are busily preparing for an outdoor Carol Concert to support the launch of the Stapeley Christmas Lights Walking Trail in support of local charities. We look forward to welcoming friends and families to join us for carols, mulled wine and mince pies on November the 25th at 6p.m.

International Men's Day at Hope Green
International Men's Day was celebrated at Hope Green with bird watching, new books of interest, music and craft. It was great to see everyone enjoying spending time together and creating a display for the lounge too. Bird watching was a real interest as some of the men used binoculars & spotted birds visiting the garden that they had not seen before. It was all finished off with visits to the hairdresser who made sure some of the men were booked in for a trim. They looked incredibly smart!

Hot Chocolates
Here at Hope Green we enjoyed some lovely cups of hot chocolate with luxury toppings of cream, marshmallows and chocolate sprinkle toppings. Just the thing to warm us up on a frosty morning. The residents enjoyed sipping their drink as they coloured in some snowflakes and gingerbread men which will be turned into decorations.

Practicing Christmas Songs
Christmas is getting closer and so during choir practice, we thought it would be a good idea to start practising Christmas Songs. The residents picked their favourites and we all sang, danced and clapped together. This was so much fun all round!

Bonfire Night at Brunel House
Bonfire night was a huge success recently. People living at Brunel were able to safely watch the home’s firework display held in the garden. Later we settled down in front of the tv with our homemade pizza and a glass of wine to watch displays from around the world.
Valerie commented on the evening "what a spectacular performance" and Mary said, “I am so pleased I got to see such a beautiful display".
Halloween at Kings Court
Halloween at Kings Court was a fantastic day, made even more enjoyable by all the people working at the care home dressing up and really getting into the spirit of things.
Book Club at Brunel House
Book club is going from strength to strength and everyone seems to be really interested in the next few chapters to discover what has happened! Our local mobile library have sourced a huge selection of suggested group reading titles and we look forward to reading them in the very near future.
Remembrance Sunday
The period of Remembrance is a time that holds a high amount of significance for many of those who live here at Abingdon Court. For this reason, we make certain to honour and respect this time. In the build up to Remembrance Sunday, we prepared by making our own poppies whilst talking about what Remembrance Sunday means to us.

Christmas Cake Baking
We are getting in the Christmas spirit at The Hawthorns.
Today we made a Christmas Cake. The people living at The Hawthorns followed the recipe and mixed all the lovely smelling ingredients together. We talked about how they made Christmas cakes and other delicious treats over Christmas. And of course we all had a spoon to taste the mixture like old times. Perfect!!
