Harvest Festival Display

We love having seasonal displays in Reception at The Moors and we are delighted to present our Harvest Festival display for Autumn.  Our receptionist Tricia excels at creating these wonderful displays for the residents, staff and relatives to enjoy in the coffee shop.  We hope you enjoy them as much as Tricia does creating them for you.

Wedding Bells

James, one of our residents at Earsdon Grange was over the moon when he walked his daughter down the aisle in October.  He enjoyed spending the day at the wedding and came back to the home with lots of smiles and stories about the day.  We think his daughter just looked absolutely beautiful and we hope you had a wonderful day.  Congratulations to you both.

The Cranleigh Poppy Appeal

Cedar Court Care Home was honoured to host The Cranleigh Poppy Appeal launch on Monday 25th October.   Trevor Cobby of the British Legion was in attendance together with Lance Corporal Tweddie-Smith and Private High from the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment, “The Tigers”.

This year marks a hundred years of the poppy appeal and the fantastic work it does.

Thank You Flowers and Cards.

One of our resident's relative sent us a lovely flowers and wrote a thank you card for everyone. This means a lot to us! We are very happy to serve and care.

Macmillan Fundraiser at River View

September 24th the sun was shining as it was Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraiser Coffee Afternoon.

We had a fabulous raffle with gifts donated by River View and local businesses – thank you. Thank you to everyone who took part. We raised a cracking £152.00.

Our residents were our prize pullers making 12 people very happy winners.

Entertainer Brian was invited to join us with his guitar playing songs we could all sing along to. Many residents also joined in with some dancing.

Family Fun Day Entertainment

As part of our Family Fun Day, we had some amazing entertainers lined up for all to enjoy. Firstly we were joined by Matt from Abingdon Music Centre. Matt has run some virtual singing sessions with us in the past, so we felt it would be lovely to invite him to join us in the flesh and meet those who he had been working with face to face! It wasn’t long before Matt had us all singing along to our favourite tunes.

Family Fun Day

On Saturday 25th of September we were finally able open the gates to our garden and invite all family and friends to our huge end of summer celebration, and boy was it a hoot!

Wedding Bells at Abingdon Court

Recently we were head over heels, as we witnessed something really quite special here at the grounds of Abingdon Court.

The continuity of lifestyle needs of those who live here is of the utmost importance to us. So, when faced with the devastating obstacle that a gentleman who lives here might not be able to attend the wedding of his daughter, we knew that an alternate arrangement had to be made.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

We couldn’t believe the beautiful weather on the day of our fantastic coffee morning to support and raise funds for Macmillan.  We invited family and friends to join us in the gardens. For sale were the fabulous tie-dye T-shirts, pressed flower art work and decorated photo frames all created by the people living at the Hawthorns. Everyone enjoyed the tea and cakes and a brilliant performance from our favourite singer. We raised an amazing £276!!!  Thank you to everyone who supported us and Macmillan.

Hodgehill Cafe afternoon tea

Another wonderful trip out to Hodgehill Cafe where yummy cake and scrumptious tipples were enjoyed by all!.  Here at The Wharf we understand how important it is for those living with us to also be a part of their local community and to enjoy a lifestyle that they have planned and hoped for.  Our wellbeing provision at The Wharf is growing and improving all the time, but it's also great to get out and about whist staying safe and protected by members of our Wellbeing and Care Teams.
