Queens Jubilee Embroidery
One of our lovely carers Ange who has been with us for 7 years, hand stitched this wonderful picture to hang on our walls to celebrate the Queens 70th Jubilee. We are all so grateful to Ange for taking the time to create this for Belvoir Vale. She is a great part of our team and you can see she has a creative eye!

Movement Monday
Every Monday morning we have a gentleman called Sam who comes to our home to do some chair exercises with the people living with us. This is a massive hit with all ladies and gents of all abilities.

Strawberry Picking
This week we have enjoyed a trip to our local fruit farm where we did some strawberry picking. Some off us we hadn’t done this since we were a child, so it brought back some lovely memories. It was such a nice morning and we had a great time collecting strawberries. When we arrived back our fantastic hospitality team used what we had picked to make us scones with fresh strawberries and a strawberry flan for everyone to enjoy.

Trip to Local Pub
Some of the gentlemen living with us wanted to venture to our local pub. We were happy to bring them to enjoy a pub afternoon. They had a great time watching the horse races and golf on tv. Whilst having a good old giggle and chat over a nice cold alcoholic beverage. The gents really enjoyed their afternoon and had a fab day experiencing something a little different. We are looking forward to the next trip there.

Live entertainment outside in the sunshine
Yesterday afternoon the people living with us enjoyed live entertainment outside in the sun. We put the gazebo up so they could relax and be nice and cool in the warm weather we are having this week. We offered cold refreshments which included a nice glass of wine or alcoholic beverage of their choice. We had a singer perform outside in the garden called Johnny who sang songs from 1950's.
He was amazing and put a lovely show on for all which was well enjoyed. The afternoon filled with happiness, a good old dance and some amazing memories to cherish.

Carers Appreciation Week
Celebrating the people working with us is so important. To mark Carers Week at Cedar Court we had a surprise care appreciation week. Throughout the week we had breakfast for all our team members and also a BBQ with everyone one afternoon. It was very much appreciated and well deserved for all our colleagues for always going the extra mile for our residents and their relatives.

Trip to Bating Lake
We took some of the people living with us on the mini bus to Eaton. We went to Bating Lake, the fish pond and then over to the cafe for some refreshments. After we decided to have a walk all around the park where one of the residents saw a herring, which was fascinating to watch.

Games in the Garden
We decided to play games in the garden because it was such a lovely warm day. I started with one resident and ended with lots of people because we were having so much fun. It is a very simple activity with a parachute and a very soft ball which we were all trying not to drop. The residents were getting very competitive with the game and there was much laughter from all.

Tiny Farm Visit
We had a lovely visit from ”Tiny Farm” and we were absolutely thrilled to be able to spend an afternoon cuddling our new furry friends. We cannot wait to invite them again for some more pet therapy.

Special Moments
Celebrating special moments with the people who live with us is so important. The lovely couple below celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary, they dined in the restaurant for lunch and had a little trip down memory lane and received some chocolates from the whole team. Many Congratulations from us all.
