Moving into a care home made easy

Our care team are here to make sure that making the move is as easy as possible for you and your loved one. If you still need reassurance, here are some stories from our residents, their families and our care team.

This is a very difficult time for everyone, and we'd like to thank all of our residents and families for their support during this time, and an extra-special thank you to all of our staff across the board who have continued to work tirelessly to serve the needs of our residents.

Our residents at Thorntree Mews Care Home in Falkirk are keeping active and happy, throughout this difficult time. A large selection of plants arrived from a local garden centre, Klondyke Garden Centre, which were delivered to the home on Sunday 29th March.

Here at Field View on Hesleden Road, Blackhall we take Mothers Day very seriously and not even COVID-19 was going to get in the way of our celebrations. We arranged for our family members to have a slot to speak to their mum's in our home and they had a Skype Call instead.

Here at Cavendish Court we have been keeping residents in touch with their loved ones via skype and facetime.

The residents at Willow Bank Nursing Home enjoyed making their own pizzas with a variety of toppings. They chose their own toppings and later ate them for dinner.

Jed who is extremely excited to dress up as the March Hare for our Mad Hatter Tea Party. Our residents have been working very hard on their costumes and the decorations. We cannot wait until the big day!

It was a special outing for one of our resident's Audrey as it was the first time she was feeling up to going on one of our Wednesday outings. She used to go to Disley Community Centre every week for cuppa and chat and would bake cakes for everyone and help out in the kitchen.

We had a great Valentines Day at Bowerfield Court with a buffet party, cake decorating, bucks fizz and romantic films in the afternoon. Prior to the big day we had made decorations, Valentines and had special Valentines Day entertainment.

On the 21st February, Hope Green held their Memory Café with lots of guests including the Mayor of Macclesfield. We had an acoustic band with lots of singing and dancing, homemade cakes and games to play.

On Valentines Day Howgate House residents enjoyed a good old singalong with percussion instruments.

The shakers were homemade out of old plastic bottles with dried corn, peas and beans.

The residents at Skell Lodge loved meeting our new friend Annie (the dog). Annie comes to see us every week and we get cuddles and the chance to feed her biscuits.

This month at The Moors Care Centre, the residents decided to take on a a new challenge, as it is Easter soon and we are getting very excited about the arrival from Incredible Eggs. For 10 days residents will be able to watch a number of chicks hatch and take care of them.

The Cornwall Air Ambulance does an amazing job and we are proud to support them in anyway we can. For the recent "Wear it Red Day", residents and the team at Windmill Court wore red and our bake sale raised £64.37.

Dennis and Brian enjoyed a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry today. They took the train from Alderley Edge to Manchester. Both Dennis and Brian, before their dementia diagnosis travelled via trains most days.
