Its a good day to BBQ

With the weather being so lovely and warm we wanted to get outside for a BBQ with the people living with us.  There was much food, laughter and a very special guest that joined us.

Up, Up and away....

Over 75 colourful make a wish balloons filled the sky over the Kents Hill, each with a special wish-tag attached from every Resident. We are thrilled to say that some of our balloons travelled as far as Kent (as notified by the local who found the balloon on their farm) Our Residents absolutely loved this creative activity and let’s just hope all those wishes come true! Thank you to our Lifestyle Team for making this such a memorable experience.

Tie Dye Time

We were looking for new ideas for what we can sell out our upcoming spring fayre and we decided that we would try new activity.  We got some scarfs and the people living with using the tie dye process created some beautiful and unique designs.  The final products are so lovely and we cant wait to display and sell them. The activity was a success and everyone cant wait to make some more.

National Lemonade Day

It was national lemonade day this week and we wanted to give the people living with us a chance to try all different types of lemonades.  We wanted to know which were favourite and the kitchen staff and team were happy to be on hand to listen to the feedback.

The Mayor comes to Kents Hill Care Home

Over the weekend we held a special event at Kents Hill Care Home and we planted a tree in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee! The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Mohammed Khan, joined us for the event and personally helped to plant the tree and held conversations with our Residents. It was a beautiful day, enjoyed by all our Residents and the team and we are very grateful to the Mayor for taking his time and joining us all for such special day.

Celebrating Frank Sinatra

He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold an estimated 150 million records worldwide and many of the people living with us Monread Lodge enjoyed spending time remembering this legendary singer.

Our residents enjoyed finding out lots of interesting new facts about Frank, watching a documentary about his long showbusiness career and of course, listening to his many wonderful classic tunes . To finish off our reminiscing, we sang along to our favourite Sinatra songs.

Afternoon Tea at Blackpool Tower Ballroom Hall

In observation of the International Tea Day, we went to the famous Blackpool Tower. Three of our residents spent their afternoon on the Ballroom Hall. Good old days were reminisced when the dancers swayed on the dance floor. This was made wonderful by a pot of tea and coffee partnered with well-made cakes and sandwiches. The day was capped off with an hour spent on the Promenade where they were able to soak up in the sun by the beach. We went home with wide smiles on their faces and memories to cherish.

Flower Arranging

Our lovely ladies arranging spring time sprays to brighten up our dining experience.

Pamper Morning

During last week the residents enjoyed a morning of pampering.

Flower Arranging

This week in Cedar Court we had a donation of some flowers and the residents took part in a flower arranging activity.  The residents who took part created some wonderful floral displays to take back to their rooms and enjoyed the creativity of the activity.
