VE Day Celebrations at Parkview
Parkview Care Home celebrated VE day with lots of smiles, reminiscing and flag waving.

Happy and Fun Filled Days at Gateford Hill
We have had lots of happy days at Gateford Hill. Residents have been in the grounds to see the horses that are temporarily in our field.
Birthdays have been special recently: Mrs H was 90 years old! We set the lounge up with drinks, nibbles, cards received by Mrs H and her presents. We all sang ‘Happy Birthday’ and laughed and cried, as Mrs H remembered loved ones. After lunch, Mrs H’s family came to see her as a surprise, with appropriate social distancing applied in the garden. Mrs H voiced what a lovely day she’d had.

Play your cards right
Games have been played all over the home from play your cards right to a music quiz and guess where I am. Fun and laughter had by all including friendly rivalry!

Social Distancing Entertainment
The summer sunshine arrived spectacularly in June here at White Rose Lodge. And what better way to appreciate the beauty of the seaside coast and the floral delights our garden has to offer, than gathering with fellow residents. We engaged in entertainment supplied by the London Theatre Company who performed ‘Summer Holiday Abroad’ in our garden overlooking Bridlington North Beach.

Independance Day Celebrations
Hope Green celebrated Independence Day last week with an American BBQ, lots of burgers and fries, music and games.
Everyone had a wonderful afternoon joining in the celebrations.

Troutbeck thank you letter
A belated note to say a sincere thank you for your care for M and support for myself. As you recall, it was difficult for me leaving M at Troutbeck and quiet a challenge after. However, you were always there to help us both through this time.
Thank you once again, I know I sent flowers to Troutbeck but I wanted to Thank you personally. I hope you and yours are well Take care MW

Troutbeck's New Staff Room
Our new Staff room all from the money donated to the staff from the late Mr W Smith - We went for a Nautical theme.
Dear Linda and everyone at Troutbeck.

Happy Retirement Joan
One of our longest serving staff member's Joan Taylor retired from Croft House last week after 21 years service. Joan was our Activities Coordinator and she loved every minute she spent with our residents over the years. She will be missed by all.
Happy Retirement Joan

Live Entertainment at White Rose Lodge
White Rose Lodge continues to maintain close relationships and links with the community and we were delighted when volunteers approached us to supply the home with entertainment free of charge. At the beginning of June we were enchanted by Brigham's Charity Organ which filled the corridors with sounds from a fun fair. Alongside well known favourites including ‘Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag’, we had residents singing along, swaying and clapping to the organ.

Stencilling
During the lock down we have been finding plenty of ways to keep ourselves busy including trying different arts and crafts.
We recently tried stencilling which was new to many of us.
