American Day

We had an American Day at Mary Chapman Court 50's style.  Starting the day off with what else but Grease which was a song-a-long special edition.  We were also treated to cheeseburgers, hot dogs, curly fries, and knickerbocker glories for lunch.  After lunch was a bit of cake decorating with special American rice paper toppers.  A lot of the staff were happy to dress up for the day too.

Bird Decoration

Our residents painted birds which we attached to twigs of handmade blossom to decorate the lounge.

Memories at Wyndham Hall

Ay Wyndham Hall we are very fortunate that the people we care for share their memories and stories with us, it's such a privilege and a special time. Recently we sat with Hilary and went through her beautiful album and reminisced about the good old days! We were in hysterics over a picture of her grandchild with ice cream all over her face!

Easter Crafts

There is no time to rest at Wyndham Hall . With Easter just around the corner our team of crafter’s thoughts turn to decorating the home for Easter.  The cutting can be fiddly but it’s an excellent way to improve dexterity.

St Patrick Day Celebrations at Parkview

So many of us have friends and/or family that live in Ireland and as such St Patrick's Day was never going to quietly pass us by. This is us raising a glass to wish love and friendship and, to everyone we know "May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow. And may trouble avoid you wherever you go." (Irish blessing)

Mauritian National Day

Friday 12th March was Mauritian National Day and we wanted to celebrate in style. One of the ladies who we care for, Kathy (Kanteeamah) was born in Goodlands in Mauritius and the team dressed up as airline crew and in national dress and we accompanied her on a virtual flight to Mauritius. There was lots of traditional food, drinks, music and dancing of course. An amazing day.

World Book Day at Brunel

World Book Day was celebrated in style at Brunel House with a Mad Hatters tea party. The staff team as usual were amazing dressing up as their favourite characters from books whilst the residents enjoyed reminiscing about their favourite childhood books. The day came to an end with a spectacular Mad Hatters Tea party in the cafe. We cannot wait to go bigger and better next year and do it all over again.

Red Nose Day Fundraiser

Allingham House celebrated Red Nose Day with a Fundraising Coffee Morning. Staff from different departments collaborated baking delicious cupcakes, biscuits and chocolate brownies. Later on, Activities Staff sold them to raise money for Comic Relief. I would like to give a big thank you to all Allingham House's staff for their collaboration.

Red Nose Day Celebrations

This week at Highfield we decided to mix our celebration for Red Nose Day with baking! Most of our residents got involved and loved baking in preparation for Red Nose Day. We made a beautiful sponge cake which was delicious! Everyone had a lot of fun either baking or just enjoying the celebrations.

St Patrick's Day Perperations!

To prepare for St Patrick's day, we coloured in some themed pictures to make into bunting to decorate the home! It was great fun and showed off everyone's different tastes, and they looked fantastic when they were up!
