Queen's Birthday Celebrations
We celebrated the Queen's birthday in style at the home with a royal quiz and afternoon tea. We enjoyed homemade cakes made by our chef and fresh cream cakes all which were yummy. We can't wait for the Queen's second birthday, Trooping the Colour in June.
VE Day at Willowdene
We had a lovely day at the home celebrating VE Day and reminiscing about the stories we had heard and remembered ourselves during the Second World War. We had afternoon tea to celebrate the day and decorated the home and enjoyed music and quizzes.
Donated Books
We had a lovely morning of crafts this morning. The wonderful books were donated by Funnybones Books, which is a company run by one of our residents daughters. She held a fundraising event and purchased the books to donate to the home. Thank you so much, we all loved them.
Care Practitioners
We were delighted when two of our team completed their Care Practitioners course especially during the challenges the pandemic sent us. Well done to Andrew and Richard who have already signed up the further progress their careers in care on the Nurse Associate course.
Higher and Lower
We love our games shows and competitions here at Rose Lodge and after seeing a game of Higher and Lower and hearing how interactive our residents were we thought we would create our own version. The shouts of higher and lower could be heard throughout the home as they laughed and cheered each other on.
Musical Memories
We had a fabulous afternoon singing and dancing to the Musical Memories who entertained us from outside the home in May. There was lots of singing and dancing and everyone had a thoroughly wonderful time.
Thank You Poundland
We received a very kind donation from Poundland in Catterick for staff and residents when we were shopping in May. We can't thank you enough for thinking of us and for all your support during the pandemic. We will be sure to enjoy all our treats with a cuppa in the home.
Planting
We had a lovely morning planting some seeds for our raised bed project here at Rosedale. We bought some flowers and vegetable seeds and potted them into little pots to be transferred into the flower beds once they start to grown. We can't wait to show you them when you visit.
Tea and Cake In The Garden
Summer is fast approaching and we love having our fantastic gardens here at Garden Hill Care Home. We had a few lovely days in May so took the opportunity to get out in the sun and enjoy tea and cake.
Time For A Cuppa
We had a lovely morning on May the 5th hosting "Time For A Cuppa". Our staff and residents held a fundraiser for Dementia UK, to ensure more families effected by dementia can receive the help and support from Admiral Nurses. We have personally felt the effects of the pandemic ourselves, and we would like to show our support to others that are suffering too. We had lots of gorgeous cake donated to the home and the residents thoroughly enjoyed the coffee morning.
